Any girls know where I can find a good pair of jeans minus the leather label? I have a terribly hard time with it, being 5'11 (and most of it legs) I have a hard time finding a size 4 long anywhere, no less w/o the icky leather tag. :dizzy:
Thanks :D

:lick: leggy...

Dunno 'bout ladies jeans, but my Express jeans have a non-leather tag. Also, Mavi jeans (Urban Outfitters) have a non-leather tag.

Good luck, legs!

Express jeans come in long and extra long. I didn't know what the tag is made of but I guess it's non leather after reading Max's post. Good luck!

I think all of the JCrew jeans I own don't have a leather tag. I'm not sure what your inseam is but I'm 5'10 mine is 34 or 35 and the "long" version of jeans/pants are usually just right. Umm, no one here really supports the Gap but I know their jeans are long enough. They also have them in X-Tra long and I'm pretty sure they got rid of their leather labels a while ago. Express has already been mentioned, never seen their labels so I can't comment.. Old Navy doesn't have leather labels and also has long's. Hm. :) Hope that's enough. Also, at alloy.com they have some pants (and jeans) that go up to a 37 inseam! Look there.

I have a tough time finding jeans for me too. I'm small, and I have a 32-33 inch inseam. I like the Gap a lot because their sizes run smaller, they have different lengths, and no leather tags. They can be pricey though, so I would check clearance

I have a really hard time finding jeans too - I'm not a particularly odd size, but there must be something odd about me because they always gape at the back right about my butt. When I find a pair of jeans, I buy a bunch of pairs and wear them till they die! I got a pair at target that didn't have leather on them...and the latest ones I got were all anchor blue - they don't have a label of any type.

Ahhh, I wish I wore a size 4! I'm 5'9" and a size 9! Hopefully I can get down to a size 7 someday...

But to answer your question, I knew someone with your problem who bought 4-longs at American Eagle. You could try looking there? I'm not sure if the tags are leather or not, but I doubt it.

I don't think it's your shape. I have that problem sometimes, and I've talked to other people, too, who have had that happen with certain brands or certain pairs. It's like "Yeah, I could sit down in these, but everyone would see my undies!"

Women's bodies do vary, of course, but the gaping in the back is an annoying problem, and I don't see a reason why a pair of jeans would do that.

I think all of the JCrew jeans I own don't have a leather tag.

I have one pair of JCrew jeans with a tag and two without.

Nautica and Calvin Klein do have leather tags. :(

I never thought of this issue before. Thank you for bringing it to my attention.

I have a pair of Calvin Klein's without a leather tag. Some have them and some don't. Also, Tommy Hilfiger jeans come with and without. I usually stick with those two brands.

The London Jean at Vicky Secrets is void of a crappy label and they come in long lengths.

Yeah to tall women! :D

The gapping at the back usually happens if you are particularly curvy or if most of your hip circumerence is in the rear most companies use a fit model that is abnormally even shaped. They have curves but never front to back or side to side. So if you are either of those there is a good chance that you are not going to be able to fit into them. The best suggestion is to find a company that when you try on all of their styles they are all sort of close to fitting. That is a pretty good chance that their fit model is a decent match for you.

Most designers will tell you that you are just asking for a headache if you expect to buy off the rack and get a perfect fit, and the best friend a woman can have is a great tailor.

I found that the problem was most prevalent when I was a teenager and wearing the typical brands that are in the teenager section. Those didn't fit well at all. They were tight in the legs yet gaped at the waist.

With women's jeans, it's not as bad, but I have found that many Ralph Lauren jeans do the same thing. The Ralph jeans are geared towards teenagers, though. Stretch jeans are troublesome, too.

Is it safe to assume that if a pair of jeans has a label that appears to be leather that it's real leather, not fake leather? Since they don't list what the label is made from on the tag, I guess I would have to contact the company directly to find out. You would think they wouldn't want to go to the expense of using real leather for just a stupid label .

They don't have to use high-quality leather, and they can buy scraps cheaply, so most of those tags really are leather. I bought a sweater a couple of years ago (cotton) and the tag inside was made of leather. I never even noticed it until I'd had the sweater for several months. They'll put other folks' skin in/on anything!

having to support The Gap aside... their jeans don't have leather tags. At least not the ones I own.
