I tried the steak peppercorn last night, it was really good. My omni husband liked it too. I think this product might even be vegan. :lick:

It depends what country you purchase it in as to whether it is vegan; here in Australia it is, while in the US it contains whey powder and in Canada modified milk ingredients. I haven't tried it though due to the genetically modified ingredients.

I've only tried two out of the four flavors. I really wanted to try the steak peppercorn but here it's not vegan. Only the Cacciatore and Oriental Stir Fry are vegan. Both are pretty good, but the Cacciatore is my fav because I love pasta.

I tried the Oriental stir fry one a few months ago, it was quite nice, but that flavour seems to one you could make yourself quite easily anyway.

Where do you get the soy protein pieces?

I buy mine at Zehr's/Loblaws. They have boxes of "soy protein nuggets" that just need to be rehydrated. I can't remember the brand. I think it's So Soya or something like that. There's a green box and a blue box.

So the product brand is actually called 'simply add vegies' ? I have not seen them.

They're made by Lindsey. The peppercorn steak is pretty good... here in Canada it's not vegan, but the teriyaki stir fry is. I think it's the tastier of the two anyway :) There are two other varieties that I know of, but I haven't tried them.

Here's the URL for the "Protein Nuggets"

This is what the box looks like. Basically they're dehydrated pieces that look like thick potato chips. They're really easy to use and make for a yummy stir fry.
