Thanks for posting that website Quizeen. I'm learning a lot about a subject that I never really thought about before.

I understand where you are coming from Oatmeal, certainly no boycott works unless it is comprised of the organized efforts of a large group of people. But, what I'm doing is not a boycott in the usual sense of the word in that I understand that my efforts alone will not necessarily effect change. But, I still feel compelled to avoid giving my hard-earned cash to corporations that make it a common practice to exploit humans worldwide. I'd much rather support companies, when I can, that are doing good work.
Also, Responsible Shopper is certainly not the end all be all of info. Nike (as well as the Gap/Old Navy) has long been a major human rights abuser in developing nations. I've gotten info on this from a variety of sources including Mother Jones, KPFK radio network, Ad Busters, Indiemedia.org, Utne Reader, and even some mainstream media outlets. So, if Responsible Shopper isn't a powerful enough source for you (and it probably shouldn't be), then there is a wealth of info available.
Also, I am a firm believer, for a variety of reasons, that neo-liberalism and coporate globalism are a major source of the trouble apparent in the world today, and I'd like to do anything I can in my personal life to avoid furthering the ends of corporate America. That's just my two centavos though.

I heard from someone they won't be chucks because they aren't Vegan anymore.. They pretty much decided being Vegan meant not buying anything which caused animal suffering, and since humans are animals, and Nike practically uses its people as slaves they wouldn't buy them.
Seems fairly reasonable. I suppose!
