What is your favorite company? If there is more than one, please explain. If I have left one out, please list.
I am not considering companies who use beeswax and honey as vegan companies. I don't know if Arbonne uses these items. I know that Real Purity does use beeswax.

I hardly ever wear make-up, but the little I do have is zuzu. It's what I wore on my wedding day! Plus, can't beat the cool name. :trick:

I LOVE Zuzu's black mascara. It goes on really nicely, not clumpy like other vegan mascaras I've tried. I like Ecco Bella as well. I haven't tried Arbonne yet, but I want to.

I just got some Zuzu Luxe a week or so ago and it's the best foundation and concealer that I've ever worn. It beats any of the stuff I wore before.

SallyK, a VB member here, has a website, www.crueltyfreeskincare.myarbonne.com .
Beauty Without Cruelty has a website, www.beautywithoutcruelty.com , but the site is under construction right now. I think that will be the best place to check out their stuff when the site is up, because most places that carry their products only have a few items and you would have to search everywhere to find everything you need.
Zuzu Luxe is carried by www.veganstore.com and www.veganessentials.com
Ecco Bella is carried by www.veganstore.com
Beauty Without Cruelty, Ecco Bella, and Paul Penders can be found at www.differentdaisy.com , along with Arbonne products.
There is also a website, www.beautybynature.net , but they're the ones that I'm upset with because they represented that Real Purity cosmetics are animal-product-free, but they're not. They do have Ecco Bella and Paul Penders, but Paul Penders is not completely vegan.
That's all I know right now, but others might have more information. I'm still deciding which company I want to use and where I want to buy it from.

Arbonne has the nicest lipsticks. They go on smoothly, don't get "chummy" and they have a great range of colors. I like Zuzu's lipsticks for their feel, but they have a very limited range of colors. Ecco Bella has great mascara.
Although not completely vegan (they use carmine in some of their colors) Hemp Organics has the best lipsticks ever. Great colors, go on smoothly and last forever. They sell only the vegan colors (which is actually most of the line) at different daisy.

 Chummy. I knew exactly what you meant! I hate when my lipsticks get chummy.

Oops! Zuzu can also be found at www.veganunlimited.com Sorry about that.
I don't know if I would want to try Zuzu because I like to wear foundation and then pressed powder (preferably a thin or light-coverage foundation). I have tried tinted moisturizers, and those aren't enough coverage. Does the Zuzu oil-free foundation look okay without a powder, or does it get oily?

Beauty Without Cruelty got the Veg News cosmetic award, but it doesn't appear to be a popular choice here. Do we not have many make-up wearers? :)
Thank you to everyone who has given me (and others) their input.

I live in a populous vegan-friendly part of the country and I have a hard time finding Beauty Without Cruelty stuff. I have some eye make-up remover from them, but it's a bit of a fluke that I even found it.
Heh, heh. I figured someone would know what "chummy" meant. It's a horrible and all too common pitfall of lipstick!

Ahh..yes...chummy lipstick is NOT good. I have not heard that term before, but I like it so now I'm going to start using it in my sales pitch :D Thanks Quizeen! Glad you like Arbonne's lipstick!

I think I can probably help with answering why BWC and Ecco Bella didn't seem to get as many votes -
Ecco Bella has a LOT of non-vegan stuff. They do use beeswax and carmine extensively, so this makes much of their line unavailable to vegans. I know their mascara should still be vegan, possibly their eyeshadows and one or two other things, but a lot of the rest of their line is is not vegan.
For BWC, it has a lot to do with changes to their company. Their stance when questioned by us is that "They're a cruelty-free company, but no longer animal-free." Whatever you want to take that for is up to you, but the inclusion of silk protein into their line in the past 2 years has rendered much of it non-vegan as well. Their claim was that the silkworm cocoons were only taken for use after being abandoned, but to them apparently losing their vegan clientele was worth the addition of this ingredient to quite a few of their products. Word has it that when they were bought out by the current owners the philosophy of being totally vegan was dumped by the wayside in favor or making the line more appealing to the "natural" products market, so that would explain a few things. Personally, this is why we dropped their line the first moment we heard this - I can't see selling products from a company who is willing to abandon their original ways just for a greater mass appeal. This is also why you won't find their products at many of the other vegan shops as well.
Thought that this might clear up a bit on why these companies ranked a bit lower!

We need you to come around a bit more often Ryan. You always have great information. I didn't realize BWC had changed their philosophy. Not that I ever wear make-up (except the occassional nail polish when I'm feeling queer), but still, thanks for the info.

Thank you, Ryan, for the info. It's too bad because I bought BWC stuff recently, trying to switch to vegan products. Now I have to decide what to do with it. They should also change their name, as it doesn't seem to fit anymore, if you ask me.

Fascinating. Thank you so much for filling us in on that Ryan.
If Arbonne's cosmetics ever went non-vegan, I'd stop selling it, so I completely understand why you dropped them off your website.
I would imagine that not many people know about the new philosophy since BWC got the Veg News cosmetics award.
