I need a good lotion for itchy winter skin here in motown. Not really thick, i get dressed right after using it after a shower.
Also, is it just the use of lanolin that is from an animal, or are there other animal ingredients to look for? thanks

I use Kiss My Face's Shea Butter and Lavender body lotion, and I love it! It really keeps my skin hydrated.
As far as lanolin goes, there's more to look out for that may not be as obvious if you're looking for a vegan moisturizer. A lot of sterates are animal fats and are found in lotions and cosmetics.

I don't know if you're near a Trader Joe's, but I got mine their pretty cheap (at least compared to what they charge at my hfs), around $4 or so.

I use Jason Glycerine & Rosewater Hand & Body Lotion - it's really great! I get mine at Whole Foods, but you can also go to: www.jason-natural.com

For the really dry skin, like on the bottom of my feet, and my hands (you know, the lotion gets washed off within an hour :)), I use Nature's Gate Skin Therapy Lotion. It smells soooo good!
Good luck!

I like Aveeno stuff for every day moisturizing. For extra smelly yummy (expensive) moisturizing I use different vtae stuff (www.vtae.com).. but some has honey, and i think some has lanolin, so it wouldn't all be vegan.

I second Kiss My Face. The lavendar is *so* nice smelling. Pure bliss! The olive & aloe lotion is also quite nice, too. It works wonders on a sunburn. :)

I have posted that I do the following:
After I shower, but while I'm still in the shower and dripping wet, I slather on any kind of pure veg*n oil - my favorite it grapeseed. Almond oil, apricot seed oil, even good quality olive oil, all work really well.
After a moment, most of the oils sinks in. I then just towel off as usual.
This works wonder on really dry skin (this is how I do my face, too), costs very little, is good for the environment, and, mostly WORKS!
BTW, this is just about the only moisturizing that I do - and I'm 41, but look like I am in my late 20's early 30's.
Give it a try.

I second it. Oil when wet works very good.

I like Eucerin, who does not test but may not be vegan. Eucerin also makes Aquaphor, which is good for hands and feet or other really dry areas.

Just like Equipro, I use oil while I'm dripping wet. I'm a fan of Sweet Almond or Sesame oil.
I like Aveda's Replenishing body lotion. It's expensive but worth every penny. It's not greasy or oily either.

Here's one obvious product brand I found....
http://www.aubrey-organics.com/product1.cfm?product_id=216G&cat=11 << VEGECOL Lotions & Toners. (vegan apparently looking at the vegan circle motiff!)
There may as per course be other vegan prods in there too, take a look and see...
