-- that don't stain your teeth? I like to drink tea, but I get nervous about my teeth turning yellow and sometimes it's not feasible for me to brush my teeth right then.

I was thinking maybe green tea doesn't, but I'm not sure.

I think that they all stain the teeth.
Ive heard that you could rinse your mouth out with water after drinking tea, coffee,or pop.It might help.
I dont know if it works or not though.......

Thanks, VM. I guess Crest will be getting more and more of my money. I've become addicted to the Whitestrips. They work very well and are not harmful to your teeth, from what the package says. :)

No, they are not. I'm not a vegan. I don't eat any animal products.

Do you have a suggestion on a vegan toothpaste?!

Tom's of Maine is vegan and widely available. I've even seen it at places like Target and Walmart. Several of the "natural" brands, such as Kiss My Face and Jason making whitening toothpastes, but I've never tried them.

Most teas and dark drinks will stain your teeth. If you don't let the tea bag sit for as long, maybe it wouldn't be so bad? Brushing your teeth with a paste made from baking soda and water will also help remove stains.

I totally de-recommend Tom's of Maine. Their products are horrible, IMO. They turned me off of natural body care products for a long time.

Thanks, guys. Maybe I'll check out Kiss My Face and Jason. I haven't really educated myself yet on different products and what they contain and what they're tested on, but I'm sure I'll get there one day.

I don't know about teeth - but green tea definitely stains all my tea mugs. I clean them with baking soda. Maybe you could keep some baking soda with you and swish it around to keep the teeth clean.

I don't use the whitening products because I think they make your teeth more porous and more apt to stain. Just my feelings.

JASON toothpaste is awesome. i like it 10x better than Tom's - it makes my mouth feel cleaner.

As for tooth staining... is it really that big a deal? You could always get some of that Trident whitening gum. It has casein in it, but if that's not a concern, maybe you could chew some after having tea.

However, I agree with raindrop - the whitening products are not good to use in the long term because they do weaken the enamel on your teeth. I have problems with gum recession and have been told by my dentist & hygenist not to use any whitening products at all. So that tells me right off that these whitening products are destructive, no matter how "mild" they might seem... personally, if you keep your teeth clean, who cares if they're not as white as the people in hollywood?

Ah, I'm vain in that respect. I want my teeth to remain straight, white, all that good stuff. It's my weakness.

I stopped chewing Trident White because it has a milk-derived ingredient in it.

The Whitestrips say on the package that they do not damage tooth enamel, but I do agree that they make your teeth more susceptible to stains. The package actually recommends that you don't use staining products while in the course of using the Whitestrips.

Thanks for the suggestions.

IMO... they are great.. I like the fact that the flavor of th toothpaste isnt insanely overpowering...regular toothpastes really upset my stomach if I accidentally swallowed even a miniscule amount, so for people who are sensitive to that Tom's are great.

I picked up some Tom's of Maine anticavity, whitening gel yesterday, used it last night, this morning, and after lunch. I really like it so far. The flavor is great!
