ok, maybe not, but at least here is a second one. I'm a 32 year old vegan* male living in the Maryland suburbs of the DC area. I like athletic activities, cooking, and quoting Simpsons episodes (of which the lines occupy WAY too much of my brain space). I have a definite silly side but know when it's time to be serious. Material people and those whose only focus on the world is what they can get from it p*ss me off, but I'm not one who "preaches" at those who do things differently. I think one can do more by setting a good example and answering questions sincerely.

anyhow, I'm tolerant and respectful of meat eaters, but I'm tired of trying to date 'em. Other folks seem to be "advertising", so I'm hoping it's acceptable to cast out a line. Any veg/vegan single women out there in the DC-Baltimore corridor? Heck, I'd be up for simply adding some more veg friends in the area - one can never have enough of them!

* to be honest, I haven't gotten rid of every one of my animal products here, but I'm working on it! Let's say I'm about 98% vegan.......

Single male vegans exist? I never knew! I've never dated a veg or vegan guy, and come to think of it, everyone I've ever dated was an avid meat-eater. I developed this theory that there are no single, good looking vegan men out there.

that must be my problem then, single and vegan but not good looking. sorry to hear that being good looking is more important than being with someone who shares your values and ethical concerns. the last person i dated was omni and she was beautiful, looked just like the r-n-b singer Tweet. i thought long and hard about her eating habits and just felt our relationship could not be complete without her being a vegan.

Whoa, Falafel, good-looking is a subjective term. What I find good-looking may or may not be what anyone else in the world agrees is. And my values extend far beyond veganism alone. I've never met anyone, vegan or not, that shares all of my values precisely. I suppose if I do, I'll be looking in the mirror.

well you said:

Actually I'm kind of new here, so haven't met anyone face to face. But I'm sure my theory can be debunked.

Well, dcvegan, single male vegans are around, although I have picked up pretty quickly from this board that we are in short supply. Good-looking? Well, as you note, that is a matter of personal preference. All I know is that I don't crack mirrors or scare small children walking down the street.

And, dawngirl, I see you peering around that corner.

Not sure when a thread in a forum should be taken off to the side to e-mail, but I'd definitely like to hear more from each of you. And I'm NOT trying to turn this into a "bake-off"; as I said, one can never meet enough fellow vegheads in his/her area.

I just can't handle all the women who just want me for my good looks. They just want to have sex with me, and don't consider my wonderful personality and sense of humour. Sigh.
