Anyone know where I can find vegan boots in regular (not online) stores? I'd like something that looks like Doc Martins, basiclly something with no heel and sort of "army" looking. But then again any boots are fine...

the only one i know of is payless shoe source, but their stuff is pretty ugly and last i saw they didn't have any boots without hugea$$ heels for women. :(

Bluegrrrl, just check your area malls. I just posted a thread on a store I found called "Traffic" (though I referred to it as "el cheapo"). There are other chain and independent man-made shoe stores in malls besides Payless.

I don't know where you live, but I realize some folks have limited options.

True. Still there's nothing wrong with Payless either; specially if you have big feet (size 10+).

Journey's at the mall usually carries a pretty good selection of non-leather boots and (again) I hate this teeny-booper pseudo punk store, but Hot Topic has a lot of non-leather boots too, here's a pair I found http://www.hottopic.com/store/product.asp?LS=0&ITEM=348005&RN=129

Just check out any mid-level department store or mall shop. Sketchers makes non-leather boots that are plenty good looking and reasonably priced (black with a block heel on sale for $40 in SoCal at Mervyns). The more expensive department stores like Macy's and Nordstrom usually only carry leather shoes, but mid level shops will have man-made and leather stuff.

I'm wearing a pair of non-leather boots I got at Famous Footwear right now. Famous Footwear has some non-leather footwear...I usually have to scour through rows and rows to find something that's non-leather and non-ugly, but every once in a while I hit paydirt.

Sears and JC Penney have some non-leather options as well (JC Penney also has faux leather and faux suede coats!).

I say hit the mall--it might take you a while, but you'll be pleasantly surprised by how many different stores carry non-leather shoes.

As for Payless, has anyone else noticed how they're moving towards having more "Quality Leather" shoes? Ugh. Last time I was there, it seemed like the leather shoes outnumbered the non-leather ones.

That quality leather thing is happening at Target, too. I used to be able to get cute, reasonably priced non-leather shoes there, no sweat. Now it's all leather. Bleh!

My knee-high faux-leather boots came from Sears. My faux-leather birkies came from Wal-Mart (yeah, I know, Wal-Mart's evil, but sometimes it's the only choice).

My best dress shoes, made out of some kind of funky synthetic fabric, came from Target.

So it's just a matter of checking labels and being willing to pick through a lot of ugly leather shoes to find a few gems.

yeah, I hate that Target has moved on to more "genuine leather" shoes. That used to be my favorite place for pleather shoes. I've found non leather shoes at Marshall's and TJMax before, after a bit of looking.

Thanks for all the ideas guys! I guess I got discouraged, cause the other day I went to Payless and hated all their shoes, then went to another store and they had NO vegan shoes, they were all leather! Grrr. That's cool that Hot Topic has non-leather boots, I mean yeah that store is kinda poseurish, but still.

Do you have a Hot Topic at a mall near you??????
I have some non-leather boots that I got there. They seem to fit your description. They even have buckles on the sides! They are much better quality than payless too!

Yeah there is, I'll have to go there. I didn't realize their boots were vegan till this thread :)

Okay, so its very expensive, but.....

Neiman Marcus has started advertising amazing looking boots as "non-leather"

I don't know your price range, but if you want an amazing pair that may last the rest of your life, try there.
