Ewww!!

This is my favorite line from the article: And while they do not not taste distinctly of beef, biting into one does impart the lingering flavoring of processed cheese.

So, pretty much what they're saying is that they taste like crap? Not only are they bad for you, they taste awful, too! Way to go Beef people!!

Each individual fry has about 75 calories and 4 grams of fat. The fries for schools have less beef per serving but still have about 60 calories and, in fact, more fat - a total of 6 grams - in each fry.

Just read more of the article. Apparently these are larger than regular fries - a serving of 5 is $2.95 so I would imagine 4-6 grams of fat each isn't too much more than cheese sticks or a similar appetizer.

Each individual fry has about 75 calories and 4 grams of fat. The fries for schools have less beef per serving but still have about 60 calories and, in fact, more fat - a total of 6 grams - in each fry. And nobody eats just one. (emphasis, mine).

That's. Just. Nasty. :spew: :spew:

Think about it: not only are we giving our kids breaded and deep-fried trans-fats and major cholestrol, we're also packing a nutritional whollop that will take years to correct. In each serving of 5 fries, kids can expect to get: 240 calories, 30 grams of fat and who knows what else is in there since the article didn't give the full nutritional details of those things. And figure that kids will possibly order more than one package of those heart-bombs during lunch, so those numbers will multiply and oh, how they'll multiply.

And people wonder why our kids are heavier than ever and suffering things like type II diabeties and heart conditions at a younger and younger age....

Our youth is being systematically killed and all the bleedin' National Cattlemen's Beef Association can do is create things that will accelerate that death?

Milkshake with blood might be a good drink with that. (I hope they aren't reading this to get ideas..)

All this, of course, pleases the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. "We want beef in dessert if we can get it there," Hogan said.
I think I'm gonna vomit, Beef Ice Cream :spew:

The folks at Hostess would love that idea.

The day is coming when straight beef fat will be available in convenient, little containers with a picture of a happy cow smiling away. School lunches will never be the same.
