I have seen quite a lot of discussion over Thanksgiving Day worries.

At our thanksgiving feast, my Mom serves Tofurky. My sister and I think it's great (both veg*n).

Has anyone else tried this great product? It is a 100% vegan veggie roast that is made from soy and wheat gluten and stuffed with vegan stuffing.

I highly recomend them to all veg*ns for thanksgiving, or any other meal! It makes a great centerpoint to a vegan meal. The Tofurkey Box Feast even comes with fake wishbones!

I just love Tofurkey, and I get one every year for Thanksgiving. Here's a thread that might be helpful:

Me too! It seems silly to buy that huge thing when I'm the only one who would eat it...and I might not even like it.

I remember a long time ago someone on the boards saying that they tasted/smelled? like socks. That kinda turned me off...

I don't have access to Tofurky in my area. I'll probably just bring veggie chicken nuggets to Thanksgiving. I'll still be happy. :)

They make tofurky roast for 4... thats closer to 1 than the big feast. I saw it in the HFS this weekend...

I was thinking about getting one, but really, i'm happy with just the side dishes for thanksgiving. I do enjoy tofurky deli slices quite a bit though!

We have tried the tofurky which is good but equally good is making one yourself. I have the Now and Zen cookbook and have made The Great Gluten Turkey several times. If you follow the recipe it makes a huge one but if you half it, it is good for about four people. If anyone would like me to send them the recipe please let me know, I would be happy to. It is pretty easy.

I'm gonna try one this year. I'm really excited. My boyfriend is gonna be at my house for Thanksgiving and we're both veg*n. My mom is having a small turkey for the rest of the family and I'm having the tofurkey and we're gonna make some other vegetarian side dishes. I was gonna buy it today, but sales person at the HFS said I should wait a week before Thanksgiving because I shouldn't keep it in the freezer for that long. Does anyone know if this is true? I hope they don't sell out because there wasn't too many small one left.

When it's just me not eating turkey at holidays, I usually get a package of Tofurky slices and a container of the gravy. I just heat up a few of the slices in a small saucepan on the stove in a little water and top with heated gravy. :lick: I just eat the other few slices on sandwiches and stuff. I think tofurky also makes their stuffing and wild rice in small containers.
