My vegan friend has a vegetarian sister who is about to give birth. She has requested that I ask on this board if anyone knows of any cruelty-free disposable diapers. Thanks in advance for your help!

Ugh. I hate disposable diapers for a number of reasons. The only benefit they have over cloth is convenience in that you don't have to wash them. Hopefully your friend will research different diaper options if she does go for the disposable and try and find one that's more environmentally friendly.
Disposable diapers are the #1 non-recycled household item. Imagine the landfills....
Good Luck.
Tell her to check out Seventh Generation brand diapers. (www.seventhgeneration.com). They have disposable cruelty-free diapers. They work pretty good but are costly. Tushies and Tendercare are two more. I've requested samples from the company that sells those before, and they were OK. I've also seen another brand on the shelves at Whole Foods & in Mothering Magazine but can't recall the name of that brand. (It's something like Nature Girl & Boy or something!)
You could also mentioned to your friend that www.mothering.com and www.vegetarianbaby.com are both excellent websites for more natural/vegetarian mothering advice if she's looking for that sort of thing.
:)
oops, forgot to mention the website for Tushies and Tendercare brands is www.tushies.com.

There are often local laundry services that will take care of dirty diapers. In many areas, the cost of the cloth + pins + driving to the laundry service + paying for the laundry service is still less then the cost of "pampers".
Or, even a half and half approach is good. Pampers when out in public :)

Thanks, everyone! I'll pass all of this along to her!
