Ok, so of corse I haven't seen it yet as it gets released at the same time around the world.
Here that's at 3am Thursday morning. It was sold out, I won tickets to it, My Dad was seriously considering coming with me, but then he thought it was crazy because we had school/work the next day. Anyway now my friends going instead.

So post here what you thought of it, how it compared to your expectations of it, and What you think of it compared to the other movies!

BUT don't post anything that gives away the plot here!! If you want to like make another thread or something.. I hate knowing what happens when you see a movie!

I have heard that in this film, a main character will die. I believe that it will be morpheus. I'll have to wait until saturday to find out though, because that's when I'm going. Anyway, I think morpheus will die, and i also expect the movie to rock.

After Matrix: Overrated can this really live up to the hype? Yeah, the flash was good, but under eye-candy the whole thing was just booring. I'll probably wait for a few weeks on this one, rent the W-brothers Bound (a neo-noir that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish) and wait an see if this is going to be another cgi-enhanced turd of a movie.

Kiz - just surround the text you want to black-out in the [spoiler] tag.

THat's interesting. I have to disagree - the storyline is as rivetting at the end of part II as it was after part I. There is also more fodder for philosophy (or "philosophodder" if you will) in part II. But to each his own, yeah?

No way. The ending to Reloaded was telegraphed from the start of the movie and by the time you get there, they fostered so much antipathy that there just wasn't anything there. And certainly there is "philosophodder" which elevated Reloaded a bit above the level of say, Ghosts of Mars or Legally Blonde II, but the ham-fisted delivery actually makes it worse than the movies that don't even try. It's rather like watching amateur comics ruin good material through poor delivery. The best movies that deal with philosophy take you to the end without a hint that is what they are doing. (Think "Antonia", "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon")

Not that the philosophy is that deep, The Matrix does for philosophy what Star Wars did for folklore, took a tiny kernel of good stuff and surround it with a ton of pretention and let the armchair critics numbed by the huge heaping pile of **** produced by Hollywood fill in the blanks as a rosarch test of their own personal theories that would sound much better with too much drugs. Because the rest of the industry is so darn shallow the W-Brothers can do a Lucas and ride in on the high-horse of pseduo-intelectual posturing as the New American philosophers.

No. I was simply commenting on your reaction that it didn't end like you thought it would.

I could make a comment as to why it didn't end the way I thought, but then it could potentially give it away, so I can't.

Unpredictibility is a good thing though. Normally have a pretty good idea how most things will end. With the exception of The Sixth Sense (and this one), it had been a long time since I was thrown.

can we make a message board for those who HAVE seen it? I need to vent big time but also hate people who spoil movies. I saw it last night and I want to discuss! :)

You know that someone would enter it, not thinking and then get the ending or something big that'd ruin it for them... unless every post had spoiler tags around everything... but that'd be hard to read.
