Hi guys!
I keep catching colds. This is my second one this month!!
Does anybody do anything that helps fight off colds? How do you prevent yourself from getting them? I start student teaching in 2 weeks at an elementary school so I know thats not going to help at all. I'd really love some adivce on this. Thanks!

From one standpoint... eliminate/decrease stress. The more stress you're under it affects your immune system allowing you to get sick easier.
Of course you could do preemptive med taking (take cold medicine as soon as you notice something being off). It might help.
One thing i occasionaly do that sems to help- is as soon as you feel the cold coming on eat some raw garlic. My mum suggested it and it seems to work. Though it isn't too pleasent eating raw garlic. Have a glass of water and maybe a plain cracker with it

I get colds a lot too. Once every two months at least, they are always really bad. I have one right now. I'm thinking it's a lack of zinc, a vegan diet doesn't get much zinc. I find when I take supplements I don't get colds, I always forget to take them though. Stress is probably a major contributer too. I wish I didn't have to work...

increase your garlic (i don't think it needs to be raw)
and the others said make sure you are eating right (ie ghetting all your nutrients)
also make sure you are having enough time for yourself, relaxing etc

Garlic. Hmmm....I like garlic so that shouldn't be too much of a problem. :)
As for the stress thing, I am not under much stress right now. I am training for a marathon and I am going to classes. Thats it. Thats the least I've had to do for I can't even remember how many years. In two weeks however, that will be a different story since I'll be gone from 6am to 7:30pm everyday. Is it pre-stress just thinking about it or something? haha.
Thanks to the people who have replied so far. :)
