I have decided to go to school to be a nutritionist and I have a couple questions.First, was what they tought you in school pro-meat and dairy? I am worried that I will run into problems if I disagree with any of the material they are teaching me.I have an aunt who is a nutritionist and when I went vegan she was telling me to make sure to complete my proteins at every meal and that it is hard to be healthy if you exclude dairy.Granted, she went to school a while ago but it worries me.Also, will I run into problems finding a job?I would ideally like to work privatly as a vegan/vegetarian nutrition consultant but I am worried I might have to work in a hospital and be forced to recomend lean meat, low fat dairy and other things thought by most to be healthy.Any responses would be greatly appreciated!

I'm so jealous of you!! I looked into going back to school to be a nutritionist, but couldn't swing the $$$.

I think you will be fine as long as you keep a thick skin about you. They will tout the benefits of dairy and chicken and fish and all that. They will also tout the benefits of whole grains, soy, fruits, veggies, etc., too. As long as you can study (and then put that study into practice--not everyone you deal with as a nutritionist will be veg*n) not veg*n foods and how they fit into a healthy diet (Blasphemy!), you should be ok.
