There's some of it I agree with and some of it I don't.

I think you should be tolerant of those that are different than you if you expect them to be tolerant of you in return.

True, guns don't kill people by themselves. They do make it pretty easy for people to kill other people though. You'll notice that wars are fought with guns, not Louisville Sluggers.

If you think homosexuality is wrong you need to get a life, and mind your own damn business. Any sexual act gay people are engaging in, straight people are doing too.

I know, you went over and invaded them for reasons that changed every 5 minutes. War on terror? WMD? Iraqi freedom? Oil? Which is it? Anyone with basic knowledge of microeconomics knows that the market system is not perfect, and that government intervention maybe required to correct market failures. Anti-trust laws exist for a very good reason. Market economies rely on consumers having choice to function properly, and this means there must be competition in the market.


I knew right away Andy Rooney didn't write/say this. He's not that dim.

i'm not going to bother disecting it like peebs did but i certainly didn't agree with a lot of it. the one part that really bugged me though was:

i have a major problem with disciplining a child by violent, physical means. "when necessary"? it's never necessary.

And BET, et al, was created to fill a void. There were not outlets or resources similar for African Americans, so they created them.

Speaking of hoaxes, I get so many of these (including the above) from my stepmother. Even the same ones months later! I have a feeling everyone has someone in their address book who does that. It's irritating! I always send her a link to hoax busters, snopes, or symantec or something.

I never really did this but I always thought about sending those e-mails that said "send this to 10 people you love" back to the person that sent it to me. 10 times. :)

Oh, she sends those, too. And Jesus and right wing emails (especially pro-Bush). Now, I'm more of a moderate, but the fact that she assumes I agree with all the crap bugs me.
