There appears to be a bug where some people are getting subscribed to forums without actually requesting it. I'm working on it. We might have to wait for the next minor upgrade to be released though.

Oh, good. I'm one of those people! I usually go back and unsubscribe later, but then I will still get notifications sometimes.

Ok, so sometimes you get subscribed even when you have it set to no.

If you have this problem, there seems to be a way to set the default subscription type to "no email".

Don't ask me how I did it.........I have no idea.

I had subscription on YES from the start.

I actually un-subscribed from all the threads from the last two months yesterday, after I paniced from the virus alert.

So I think it had to be at least 600 yesterday.

A full workday includes at least a 100 notifications a day.....

I don't mind being automatically subscribed to every thread I post in. My question is: How do I subscribe to an interesting thread that I DON'T WANT to post in? (Or at least until I have something to say...) :wall:

I don't think you should be subscribed to every thread you post in, unless you want it that way. You can set that in your usercp (I believe it's under options). I don't use subscriptions so I'm not sure how to subscribe to a thread you don't post in.

Oh, try going to thread tools at the top and then "subscribe to this thread."
