I don't know of it would be drowning or walking in front of fire stations (stupid I know but I've always hated it).

Being caught in public naked. I have that dream sometimes, it is embarrasing.

Not being able to take care of my animals, for financial, physical, or other reasons.

In terms of phobia-like fears, mine are heights and fire. Or more accurately, heights and being burnt. Burns are so incredibly painful.

My biggest situation fear is probably going to prison, the thought terrifies me. I don't know anyone that's been so I've no idea what it's actually like but I do not want to find out, thanks.

Indigency as a result of the US health insurance corporatocracy. Without legal residency or citizenship in a sane first-world nation, it is a given if I were to fall critically or terminally ill.

Waking up at the end of my life and realizing that I'm completely alone, never having gotten married or having children, and that I haven't made an ounce of difference in a single life outside of my own.

phobia wise, moths and mice. Moths scare the living hell out of me, I hate hate hate them. I don't know why.

otherwise, situational fears... I'm afraid of everything... growing up, responsibility, what the hell I'm going to do after college.

The world ending, global warming, being hit by a train.

Being cloned and then being the subject of involuntary plastic surgery that makes me look like Tom Cruise and then meeting my clone in a dark alley.

you're talking about human life only? Because you can make a difference in a lot of animals' lives, easily.

This is the closest so far... The idea of facing long, agonizing death with pure, pulsing, overwhelming and soul-shattering REGRET because I've realized I haven't lived my life with enough love to have made it a worthy life and it's too late to change it.

And I'm jealous of every one of you whose "biggest" fears don't even make my top ten.

Torture. Being tortured. I'm not a big fan of pain. Or maybe being raped. I never want to experience that.

I'm also scared of being badly burnt. The workplace safety ads we had here in Australia last year, showing someone spill an entire pot of boiling water all over themselves was horrifying.
I used to be scared of heights, but I did a bungy jump a few months ago which kind of helped.

I'm scared of never really figuring out what my passions and talents are in life, and just kind of drifting along. I want to find a place for myself and have minimal regrets!

My biggest fear is that someone will find out what my biggest fear is and use it against me. :p

Is that because you don't like your body or some religious or other teaching has indoctrinated you to be shameful of your body?

I don't think you have to be taught that your body is a disgusting thing to be averse to being naked in public. It's a vulnerability thing, especially in your dreams.

No need to jump on her for being honest about her fears.

Sharks. I've never even seen ocean and they freak me out so much that I won't even swim in a pool. Parents, never let 7 year olds see "Jaws" it could leave them with an irrational fear when they're almost 40. :)

No, I'm not jumping on her. I'm curious. I would think something that could cause bodily harm would be a bigger fear (assuming you are fearful of anything), yet some people REALLY, really don't want their body seen. I just asked a question. It could have been anybody who posted it and I asked the question of, even a male. In this case I happen to know PP is religious which is why I asked that part.

I like my body and wouldn't mind others seeing it - that's why -- trying to understand.

Ah, fair enough. The way you phrased it made it seem like you were disdainful of her religious beliefs.

Also, phobias are irrational things. Hence plenty of people being scared of mice, rather than dying in a car accident or something that's a genuine threat.

I think pregnant women are absolutely beautiful! Well, I think almost anyone can be beautiful if there's a smile on their face.
