Just wanted to share my discovery of this new VEGAN product line which I found at my regular grocery store. http://www.gardein.com
I got the crispy tenders which we ate last night. They are great!! I think they might even fool an omni! I also bought the buffalo wings and expect them to be yummy as well. They cost $3.99 per bag which isn't too bad.
Check them out!!

Thanks for this! I got someone the chicken filled with something and also the pulled pork. They liked the pork-like product best.

I posted about Gardein products a few months ago. I posted calling it "It's All Good", the company name. I think Gardein is the proprietary name for the mixture of "soy, wheat and pea proteins, vegetables and ancient grains" (copied from their website).
My favorite one so far is the BBQ skewers. My HFS does not carry the frozen products, so I haven't seen the crispy tenders. I want to try the beefless tips and the buffalo wings.

This talk of Gardein made me crave it. So, that's what I had for dinner and posted a pic of it in the Food Porn section.

I guess I didn't see your post sleepydvdr. I am so happy that the local Publix is stocking more veggie products. We ate the buffalo wings tonight; they are spicey and yummy! I can't wait to try all the others! :D

I love the BBQ skewers, I've never had real meat ones though so I don't know how 'authentic' they are if thats what they're going for. I'd like to try the criskpy chick'n stuff because I like seitan chick'n whenever I get it in restuarants but sadly my local supermarkets don't carry it.

I love this brand too. I buy the the Costco sized boxes :lick:
When InstantKarma & I were in Seattle, Whole Foods had this yummy Gardein salad, it was kinda curry-like with chuncks of Gardein Chick'n in it. Mm Mm!
I am not always a huge fan of mock meats, but these ones are gooood :hungry:

I'm curious, what are these Costco sized boxes? What name brand are they? I saw on their website that the make private label products, but Costco wasn't mentioned. What size/quantity are they? How much do they cost? If the savings would be significant, this may just warrant buying a Costco membership!

I think the pulled BBQ chicken tasted like dog food. Maybe I will give the tenders a chance.
