I love that stuff, but it's a little pricey, I think. I've tried many vegan "egg nog" recipes and they just don't even come close. If anyone has a homemade vegan "egg nog" recipe that tastes similar to silk nog, PLEASE post it in the reipes forum.

Please let us know how it turns out, Gracie. I would love to make a Nog cake, too. My only problem is that I want to be able to use stevia in place of regular sugar, but I have no clue as to how to alter the other ingredients since I won't need as much liquid. Either way...I still want to know how the cake turns out and if it's nummy, would you mind sharing the recipe???

Does anyone know if you can freeze it? I love this stuff...I already drank 3 cartons. If I keep it up I won't want any for the holidays.

I didn't know Silk Nog and heroine had so much in common (major addiction and overdose problems). :D

@ 46 avacados impossible! ... lol!
that sucks majake. what supermarket chain do you have there? we got a good one here in buffalo, wegmans, who even went so far as to place a V for vegan products on their in house foods (their wegmans brand peanut butter, tomato sauces, juices ... etc.) i commend them for that.

I restocked! :vebo:
Unfortunately, I had people over again, and since I wanted to drink some, I had to offer it to them, and they liked it and now it's nearly gone... :(
This last time I bought two. I guess next time I'll have to buy three. :D It's on sale at Wild Oats this week! :)

Here's a suggestion, Mskedi. Take an empty carton of regular soy milk and pour the Silk Nog into it. (of course, make sure you clean out the carton first and write the new expiration date on the container, though as quickly as all of us go through this stuff, it probably won't matter) Then...next time guests come over, they won't know you have Silk Nog. If you want to be even smarter, when you fix them a beverage, be sure to pour your Silk Nog into a glass that isn't clear. Then, no one will know what you are drinking. I know, I know, this isn't being a very nice friend, but hey! We are talking about nog, folks!

No success on the cake. It came out kind of coarse, but gummy. Not good. And it wasted a lot of Silk Nog! :furious:
I'll look around for another recipe. I've got the idea of Nog Cake stuck in my mind, now.

 What a bummer about the cake and what an even bigger bummer about using all the silk nog. Now you have me looking for a good nog cake...if I find one, I'll be certain to share.

First of all, it's funny how much activity this thread has seen...
Secondly, I'm so frustrated! I'm at the local Whole Foods almost weekly, and I've been looking for Silk Nog ever since this thread started. Today I asked the guy working in the dairy/soy section if they plan to stock it. He told me they had it a few days ago and it sold out in a few hours, as he pointed to an empty slot on the shelf that might have held 8 cartons, tops. He said they're expecting more, but GEEZ! You'd think they'd have ordered more in a major metropolitan hfs. Gaugh. He then suggested a popular organic dairy egg nog, and when I told him I don't eat dairy, and he smiled, said he was sorry, and that yeah, the Silk Nog is really good.
And I do think it's funny that I'm getting bent out of shape over egg nog.
