My husband insists that he isn't a veg*n and yet he sings daily praises about how awesome all my food is. Yesterday, I bought some vegan "meat"balls (not cheap!) and cooked them, but planned to use them today. He walked in the house and gobbled them all up...lol Said, they were the best thing ever! I laughed and was a little irritated all at the same time because I have to come up w/ a new dinner today.
He then tells me that they had Kentucky Fried Chicken at work last week and that he was SO bad! I asked him what he had. He raved about the mashed potatoes and bisquets and said, "Ya know, the chicken part was gross, I really only liked the breading."
It's just funny to see the transition from a person who thought the world was going to end when I announced that I was going to be a vegetarian, to a person who would really be perfectly fine (not out loud to his friends..lol) being a vegetarian.
*Just a thought* It is easier for people who have meals cooked for them. They really don't have to put much more thought into things than, "Hey, this tastes pretty good!" I do feel pretty lucky though, some guys would never go along for this ride quite so easily.

My husband ended up the same way. He was so against it in the beginning but now he's completely vegan at home and vegetarian when possible when he's out. He doesn't claim that he is but we know it. Haha! Gotta love it when that happens. :D
Now I want vegan meatballs....

I needed to read this today! My husband is a big time omni, but he's starting to enjoy some of my vegan meals. I was thinking maybe it was hopeless.

Time, no pressure and awesome veggie food will do the trick;)

<<< also lives with a happily vegan at home, mostly vegetarian away man. He does still eat fish on work trips, though. :-/

^ I think this (bold) is a big part of it.

Yeah we have a limited budget on food. So I'll buy my vegan food and he'll buy his diary and meat.
I'll make my vegan food, and I'm glad to have him eat it really I am, but he will eat it all! Then the only thing left is his meat and dairy. So me and my daughter are left with nothing. I ask him to just not buy meat and he can eat it out of the house but "NOOO I CANT LIVE WITHOUT MEAT"
I don't hear him complaining when hes eating my fake meat....

I very much agree. My fiance is omni and claims to love his meat, but it is very rare that he will go out and buy meat to add to whatever I am cooking. He eats meat when we go out, but happily picks tofu, seitan, etc. off of my plate because it look good. I've noticed if I start going into the details of why meat is wrong he just shuts off and claims to love meat, but if I just make yummy looking food he's all for the vegetarian option.

This is really good! At least he's somewhat open to the idea of vegetarian food! Maybe one day he'll stop eating meat altogether. Especially when his fiance makes delicious veg*n food!
When we go to the store my husband will buy meat wise, only a pack of chicken breasts [all natural] and maybe a steak [all natural]. That will last him two weeks. We have mostly been buying lots of vegan food because he is the only one in the house who is omni and will eat vegan food.

Your story isn't totally unlike that of my fiance and I...
When we met I was vegan and she was omni. She isn't very handy in the kitchen, and I love to cook, so I ended up doing all the cooking. Turns out she is a big fan of the meals I make, and also was perfectly happing going to a lot veg*an when we'd eat out.
When eating out she'd occasionally get sushi, or a salad with chicken breast on it, but more and more she commented on how she didn't even really feel like she was missing anything when she just ate veggie.
So, a while back, she proclaimed "I really might as well just go vegetarian", and... she did.
:vebo:
And yeah, NO PRESSURE! Just good food!

That's awesome ^^
I think my husband would go vegetarian, but he might feel that if he does he'll get a lot of crap from his family. Who basically are all really unhealthy because all they eat is meat and dairy. It's too bad.
