Probably about five years ago I got a bunch of envelope stickers from PETA, but now it doesn't seem that they have them anymore. Does anyone know where I can find stickers to put on the backs of envelopes I send out? I'd like them to have a positive veg message, too. Thanks in advance!

I don't know exactly what kind of stickes you mean, like the smallish sqaure ones? Whenever I order from Vegan Book Project, they send me a big envelope of AR stickers www.veganbooks.safeshopper.com I'm not sure about buying them firsthand. If you PM me with your snail-mail address, I'd be happy to send you some of the million I seem to have!

I think this is the place to ask a question I've had for awhile. Many adhesives are made using animal products. Is there a place to buy envelopes, glue, stickers etc. where animal products are not used?

I think that nowadays, *most* glues & adhesives are all synthetic. I know that Elmer's is vegan, for example.

Thanks for the Elmer's tip. Are you sure it's vegan. That's the question my sister and I ask each other if we sound too sure of ourselves. But what about envelopes. I heard a store on the news about slugs crawling into mail boxes to eat the glue from the envelopes. It was a real story. The post office had to deal with it.

There was a thread around here somewhere & someone confirmed that Elmer's is vegan. They had written to the company and found out the ingredients. As far as envelopes, I'm not sure. To me, it's one of the things that I have to compromise on.

I've wondered about envelopes. Even if you still buy them, you might not want to lick them.

As far as getting AR address labels, just donate money to PETA or HSUS or some other big animal charity and you will get so many animal stickers you won't know what to do with them.

Just wanted to get on my anti-HSUS soapbox for a minute here. I don't recommend donating money to them b/c they are in cahoots with Iams and actually gave Iams an award.

That being said, I completely agree with Thalia that donating to a larger AR group will get you loads of stickers. Or, you could make your own. You can buy sticker paper that loads into your printer. That way they can say exactly waht you want them to say.

afaik a lot of envelopes are coated with (corn) starch.

See which brand of envelopes you can buy and ask the company what they use for glue.

*holds up sandwich board that reads "Making your own stickers, postcards, envelopes and papers is fun!"*

I will say that all I had to do was email Peta and they were happy to send some free stickers my way. Isn't most of their money spent on advertisement anyway? They can afford to give away some freebies.

Thanks for all the great tips, everyone! Thanks to punkmommy, I'll be getting some soon! I had to write to PETA anyway about multiple mailings I get from them (I've had three different last names and get mailings from them under all of them! :dizzy: ), so I asked them if they could send me some stickers, too. :)
