November 1st Meetup - Vancouver/Vancouver Island

As explained in this thread (http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=108809), a wordwide VB meetup day is being planned for 1st of November (which is coincidentally also Wold Vegan Day). I've been asked to create a Vancouver/Vancouver Island thread for this event, so here you go!

I would definitely be interested in this.. I live close enough to Vancouver to come in for a day but unfortunately I don't know the area well enough to suggest any places to meet up :P

Masja... I have been working on organizing a veggie potluck in Nanaimo, I am hoping it can happen every few months up at the Univeristy. I'll let you know when I get the first one set up and organized :)

If it's in Vancouver, there are COUNTLESS awesome veg restaurants. BUT we'll see how many people we get and where they are from, before we choose a set location :)

Just one thing. I'm not officiall a "vegan" yet. Would that matter?

Nah, you don't have to be vegan, vegetarian is fine! It's world Vegan day and we are simply celebrating that with a Veggieboards Meet-up, so vegetarians and vegans are both welcome! (Just like on these boards) :D

I really hope we get lotsa people, this will be fun.

Oh, and YEP - it's on a weekend. Sunday, to be exact :)
I totally didn't even think about how the night before/Saturday night will be Hallowe'en. Hrm.

Hay! I live in kits and there are tons of veg restaurants in Vancouver :)

Kits is in the west side of Vancouver for any non-vancouverites :)
