I'm in Houston, but thinking seriously about moving to Austin in late November, so I'd be up for a meetup in Austin.

This is going to be a very small meetup it seems. Haha!

I would love to do something that day, but I'm going to be puerto vallarta :)

I wanna meet everyone! I just moved to Corpus Christi. I'm not sure if I could go all the way to Austin, that's over a 3 hour drive for me and an entire tank of gas (not working, no income).

Is anyone in San Antonio?

Bump!

If you can go to Austin instead, do it. It's worth the extra 2 hours of driving. Amazing veggie restaurants and Austin's atmosphere is sooo much better than SA. Plus, you could go to Barton Springs which is centrally located and is a natural spring. Boom!

I hate to drive, so 4 hours each way would probably kill me :p Especially if I had to do it in 1 day. I really wish I could afford the plane ticket to Austin

oh! 4 hours is way long. didn't realize it was so long. The trick with that is to take a long weekend and head there with dude. There's some awesome hotels and b&b's to stay in. The hill countries very cool and Mr. Natural is unbeatable for food. Their desserts are to die for. Enough of my positivity to make you frustrated.

That's the problem with Texas. It's so friggin' big it takes forever to drive through. When i lived in Louisiana and would travel thru to Cali, i could never make it through Tejas in one day. ridiculous.

The only thing is we have a dog, 3 chinchillas, and a rabbit, someone has to be home in the morning and at night. :( Would love to though.

No kidding, it's huge! When we drove here from Cali, it took an entire day to get from one side to the other. They need to break it up :p

The republic of Texas?! You would be drawn and quartered for vocalizing that one.

If you meet someone from there, they could watch the pets for the weekend or you could hire a pet sitter.

I don't trust anyone with my pets :sealed: Actually I do trust someone, but she's in California. She's my Mother, she always watched my babies when I went on vacation to San Diego *sigh* My man and I want to drive to Cali for Christmas, I just don't know how that's going to work with my Jetta.

Maybe if you find a VB'er you could hire them. But then again, there's some fruitcakes on here!! :p

yup. Gotta love how pets can hold you back. We haven't taken a really good vacation partly because of our pooch. We end up waiting until my parents visit and then use them!! Pets are a really good precursor to rugrats.:baby:

I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be in Austin the evening of the 1st, if anyone's still working on a meetup there.
