I'm interested. I'm in Cleveland.

I'm in Columbus! I've been away lately but would love to meet up! :)

We could meet in Mansfield, then. :p It would be roughly equidistant for the two of you, me, and Iria if she should want to come. I'll send her a PM.

No word from Iria yet. I know she's not been active in awhile.

My DH and I are interested, too! We live in Dayton. Would this be for the 1st of November, then? (He'll need to take off work.)

I have a feeling several of us would need to request off for work. If we're going to get something going, we need to decide pretty soon! (I work in a bank, so we're always closed on Sundays.)

Yeah, lots of people still have to work weekends. My DH and I are willing to meet pretty much anywhere in the state, as long as we have 2 weeks notice to let his boss know. :-) It would be GREAT to meet some other real-life veggies!

If we were to meet in Mansfield, where would we meet? Are there any veggie restaurants or would we bring food to a park or something?
I know there's a great vegan restaurant in Akron, OH, but that's a little further north than Mansfield. It's called The Vegiterranean. http://www.thevegiterranean.com/
I'm definitely fine with Mansfield, just throwing this out there in case we don't find a place to meet there.

Happycow.net doesn't list anything for Mansfield, Ohio, and I've only been there for specific events so I don't really know myself of any place veggie-friendly to eat there.

I've been to Vegeterranean three or four times and would happily go back! It's pricey, though, so everyone should be forewarned. It's not as expensive as Dragonfly Neo-V in Columbus, but it's close. Neo-V, when I was there a few weeks ago, didn't really have much in the way of mock meats, and probably half of the menu at Vegeterranean is mock meats. And what mock meats they are! Soooooooooooo good!

But a potluck picnic would rock, too! Many of us are a bit cash-strapped right now and would rather have the primary cost to this excursion be the gasoline for transportation. I'd enjoy tasting your best picnic foods. That's a great way to get to know each other, too. I'm all about declaring "vegan food only" even if none of us going are vegans.

Thoughts on indoor vs. outdoor? Pricey restaurant vs. inexpensive picnic?

Provided the weather is nice, of course, I'd prefer outdoors and inexpensive picnic. It'd be neat to see what kind of food everyone can make! :-)

I think an Ohio meet-up is a great idea!
I'm definitely in! :)

You making Otomik do things worked out so well a few weekends ago. :p

As far as locations go, should we try to scout out a place that has indoor options if the weather is foul? I know of places like that right around my area, but if Mansfield is more central for everyone, I can call around and see what I can find.

Mansfield's almost an hour and a half from me. :-/ Where are you in Ohio, since you know of places already?

she is two hours from you, if you are living at/around OSU campus.

I'll PM you with an answer to that. I don't like posting my exact location where anyone can see it.

Okay! I'm not actually anywhere near the OSU campus, though, so I don't think the two-hour mark is very accurate for me. :)

Ohio is, like, the mother of colleges and universities. So while OSU has a bajillion people, it's not the only school by a long shot.
