There's a great vegan restaurant in Orlando called Ethos Vegan Kitchen. (http://www.ethosvegankitchen.com/).
I'm originally from Orlando, but I currently live in Jax. I visit my family in Orlando all the time though. (I eat at Ethos every time I go down!!!)

There is a new place called "The Loving Hut" which is billed as "vegan fast food." It is cheaper than Ethos though I have never been there. Ethos is the only vegan place we have EVER been!! It is good!

Okay, so if we're really gonna do this we gotta devise a plan.

Can everyone agree on Orlando for Nov 1 for one of the places listed above?
Can you Tampa people make some definites as far as carpooling goes?
We should work on getting a head count...

Yes, we need to really get some definite plans in place. If we agree on Orlando, we have to decide where we are going to meet, and as seibella said see how many are coming. I do not know if Ethos or Loving Hut takes reservations.... there are other places in Orlando as well. Not everyone from Florida has responded in this thread either so we don't know if there are others interested. Come on Floridians!! Let's do this! :D

I really have no idea what Nov 1st has in store for me so I can tentatively go. As we get closer I will know more. But Orlando is easy enough to get to from Tampa and my car is definitely not one to use for car pooling. I have a mustang with a non-existent back seat.

Please keep me posted on this meet-up as I have a tendency to drift. I would have no problems with going to Orlando, but I am not willing to carpool. (I'd be heading straight east on SR 50 from Brooksville, if anyone is perhaps interested I *could*)
As far as Nov. 1, I also don't see where I'm at. I may be living in Indianapolis, so I might have to look into that one. But if I'm here, I am interested. One question, could *silent* omni's go along for the ride?
Thanks!

I'm in for Nov 1. No carpool for me, either. Another EM thread girl with a small car :D

So what all would be in the itinerary? Just grubbing out in Orlando? I'm still in!!

I was trying to think of other things, too, but have been unsuccessful.
It seems like such a drive just to chow down, but even if that's all it is, I'm still in!

I don't know what else we could do but eat! :D There is a nice park across the street from Ethos. Congrats on your wedding estacey! I guess you are excused this time! This is actually the first time we have attempted this since I have been here!

Oh! Well then we're all new at this!
I like the park idea. What about perhaps hosting a picnic potluck if we don't do a restaurant? Is there beaches locally? Or perhaps, the theme parks would be nice....
Just some ideas to throw around, I'm here to help!!

A potluck could work if folks don't want to do a restaurant, though we eat out so seldom, it would be a nice treat for us, though a potluck would be cheaper! There are several nice parks but the beach is kinda far as Orlando is in the middle of the state! Theme parks cost a FORTUNE!! I think ONE ticket is $80 to any of them, plus parking, and food may be a problem as we found out recently.
Keep bring the ideas! Everyone!! :D

Yes I can relate...Perhaps a smaller zoo, those fees aren't too too terrible! I understand about eating out, I never have ate at a veg restaurant and would love to try..

I've only ever been to one vegetarian restaurant in my life, and it was a fast food falafel place that only remained veg for about a year before adding meat to the menu. But I have been to Pine Garden in Boca Raton many times. It's a Chinese restaurant with a separate vegan menu with over 100 items to choose from!
