I'm diabetic and just read a great article about the use of aloe juice in blood sugar control. I'm in very tight control, but continue to need oral medications. I would love to be able to drop some of those. Anybody have any personal experience with this?

My friend has Crohn's disease and she uses it to manage it. She convinced me to buy some once for digestion but it was so disgusting that after about a week I just forgot about taking it and I think it's probably expired now.

I know going raw you could possibly get off of oral medications, at least the people in the Raw for 30 Days documentary did. I'm not saying do this it will work 100%. I know aloe juice is great for chemotherapy side effects though...

Yeah, it tastes gross but supposedly has a lot of health benefits. My husband used it when he was diabetic and it seemed to help his blood sugar. Try mixing a small amount in a larger glass of water.

Thanks! I'm still trying to decide if I want to give it a try.

If you do decide, ask the clerk at the store if they allow returns. Many larger health-food stores will allow you to return vitamins etc. with a receipt within a certain time period (usually two weeks). That way you can try it for a little bit and if it's too gross or you don't see a change, you can get your money back. :)

I used to work at a health-food store with this policy, and our customers really appreciated it!

If you're worried about the taste you could mix it with something like pineapple juice.

I have heard of it for stomach issues before not blood sugar.
