Don't know how long this will last:

http://www.schwans.com/promos/freefood/freeFoodBegin.aspx

I ordered a 9.99 Couscous dish that is being delivered on wednesday.

My order confirmation does indeed say 0.00 dollars total.

Didn't need a credit card to sign up.

I don't think it will work for me since I have a PO box, but it does sound like something to try.

I need the free code. Does someone have one? You have to enter a code to be able to sign up.

fyi, schwans drivers are basically independent contractors. they buy all the food on their trucks from schwans and then sell it at a markup to make a living. i don't know how this particular promotion works, but again just fyi.

I ordered. Thanks to being in NC, I had to pay 2 cents for sales tax. I just selected the option to "pay at the door". It seemed silly to put 2 cents on my card.

Got my delivery today.

It's exactly as described. Driver knocked on my door, handed me my free goods, and gave me a catalog should I decide to order in the future. I did ask him if the promotion affects his profits at all. He said it's funded completely by corporate and he'll be happy if he gets even just a few new customers out of it. Real nice guy.

I got the Mediterranean Vegetable Couscous (http://www.schwans.com/products/productDetail.aspx?id=62178).

That is what I ordered as well. Mine is supposed to be delivered on Friday. Guess I'd better have my 2 cents ready!

They are asking for your zip code.

Yes, I need the zip activation code for the discount. Where do I get one? Do they send them in an email? I cannot sign up until I have the right activation code. Can someone post a few here or PM me with one please?

They mean zip code, as in your postal code. For example, Seattle's zip code is 98068. Every address ends with one.
Ex. 12345 SE 123rd St
Seattle, Wa 98068

Yummy, that Mediterranean dish sounds good. I think I'll take advantage of this as well.

*Edit* Wait do you mean at the end when they have a box that says "Do you have a promotion code?" or the box that first pops up that says "Enter your zip code:"?

The box says to "Enter your zip code" to verify that they deliver to your area.

I won't have to pay the 2 cents after all! My email receipt has that taken off. WHew! I was wondering if I could afford that 2 cents! Yay, so completely free for me, too!!!:juggle:

Yes. My address does not end in zip codes. I entered my post code which is part of my address but it is four numbers and they want five.

You are right. They do not. Why was this not put in the opening post? I had to enter fake zip codes to find out. If an offer is racist it should be made clear in the OP. The opening post made this sound like it was open to everyone who was here. :(

This is NOT a vegetarian company, either. http://www.schwans.com/products/productDetail.aspx?id=66204&c1=10247&c2=10248

I do not like this company, with it's meat and fake offers.

Free food, sure, but do they have the morals to send it to countries who need it? NO! They like to make sure that when people advertise on their behalf they make no mention of their racist policies, though.

To be clear, when seeing these offers I check for country restrictions. Even with the "American" name the terms and conditions say that no country is out. I am just annoyed that they try and get you to sign up before they let you know. Most places with restrictions are up front about it. This offer was much more sly than that.

Why is it racist for them to restrict their offer to the US? It's their food they're giving away and their goal is obviously increasing their business in the US. If you live here and have a pulse I don't think they know or care what race you are.

I'd be careful. When we bought from them, they didn't have a ton of vegetarian items (Very few really, if you don't count the desserts), and what seemed vegetarian wasn't always. Got some spinach puffs that turned out to contain rennet. Just a warning.
