I would like to see if there are any fellow veggies in my area that would like to hang out. I'm having a tough time right now(see thread-broke up with fiance' today). I don't know any other veggies! I just want to hang out and eat hummus! I'm in Jacksonvillr,FL! Thanks! :bobo: :shy:

It's hard living in an area that doesn't support your lifestyle. I live in NW Florida and have had a hard time finding veggie friends. I moved from Atlanta, GA where there is a lot of support for a veggie lifestyle.

I found friends here by joining the local health food cooperative and attending their seminars and events. Through them I found the local vegetarian society. We get together once a month for a potluck. The local college also has a veg society. Maybe you can find these groups and a HFS in your area.

Hey Carol. Im not in Florida, but Im no too far away.

Im having a simailar problem. Ive been mostly vegetarian for over 3 years and recently decided all out vegan last month.

I just moved to MS last year, and dont know any other veggies :(

Im actually closer to New Orleans. I was thinking of going to PETAs conference in New Orleans in Feb to meet people, but thats still a long way off...

I'm from MS. I grew up on the Gulf Cpast and went to vet. school at MSU. New Orleans is a great town to visit. There are some veg restaraunts and larger HEalth Food Stores there. You will find some health food stores in MS but don't hold your breath on restaraunts. You may be able to et Applebee's to make y ou a dish. If you can PM me if this board lets you do that. Otherwise, just post a reply and I'll get email notification. I'll reply when we get home (see below).
