Great, so I've woken up with a cold. I'm not especially surprised. Everyone at job #2's been sick, and this weekend my friend that I went to 2 concerts with had a cough. NOW HOW DO I MAKE IT GO AWAY?! I know about vitamin C and zinc, and drinking as much liquid as possible, and I'm doing zicam. Sleeping a lot isn't really an option with work (which is why I need it gone!). I refuse to do echinacea cause I've gotten really sick using it so.. anyone have any other ideas??

It sounds like you are doing as much as you can for it. I always like to take my vitamin C in the form of Emergen-C powder, so I also get more water in my system as well as other vitamins. Hope you feel better soon!

I just called in sick to Job #2, that I only work on on Wednesdays, and a little bit on Saturdays. I told them if they really needed me, I'd go in. They said don't. :D

I'm not sick enough not to go to work, but I'm sort of annoyed with them, and I'd rather sleep all day. I think i'll make an HFS run and get some juice and soup and stuff.

Feed a cod. Starve a beaver. (that's the only way I can remember it!)

Feed a cold. Starve a fever.

Eat plenty of good food. Lots of vitamins, C is great, fluids are great. The faster you can get it out of your system, the better.

Colds suck.

RAW GARLIC. eat a lot of it. either on it's own or in hummus or salad dressings or whatever.

WILD OREGANO OIL. one drop in a shot glass of water, 3-4 times a day until you feel better.

Hehe.. I don't know if my digestive system can take raw garlic!

I'm surprised I didn't know this cold was coming on, cause I've been really thirsty and craving fruit like a madwoman. (Needed vitamin C and hydration.. doh) Thus far in the past 4 hrs I've consumed close to a litre and a half of juice and water. (I'm alternating) Gotten about 1000% of my daily value of vitamin C, 100% of zinc.

The result?

Holy Monkeys do I have to pee!! Like, constantly. Haha. :) As long as it works, I'll be happy.

I thought veg*ns don't get sick! Big ;)

I don't know how to get rid of it. Nothing I've tried, including much of the above, has ever worked. I rarely, rarely get sick (yes, even P.V., er, pre-vegan), but when I do, I just have to ride it out for a day or so, and I snap back, refreshed. Everyone around me is getting sick, including my wife, so we'll see if I escape this time!

Get well sooooon!

I know you said that sleeping isn't an option, but thats the thing that works best for me. If you have a break between your two jobs (if you do them in the same day) then take a nap, even if its for an hour. The second you get home from work, go to sleep. When I was really busy and I got sick, I would be sick for a couple of weeks, but I found that if I allow myself to stop and sleep then I'll get over it in a couple of days.

Other than that, heres some :sunny: for you. Take Care!

This flu/cold thing......gonna take you two weeks taking meds and 14 days w/o meds (some old cliche that I found is true).

peppermint tea/ginger tea/green tea.......might help.

kreeli, you sound totally like my mom, she says exactly the same thing!....I know she's right but....hehehe,,,
