There was once a time that I was reading tons of veg blogs and I knew about all the upcoming books that were going to be awesome and ended up winning a lot of awards. Guess what? I'm out of the loop now. I don't now what's 'hot' anymore.

What are your must-have cookbooks?

I have:
The Joy of Vegan Baking
Becoming Vegetarian

I have some other books that I don't really like.

I want:
Veganomicon
Vegan with a Vengeance
Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World
The Vegetarian Meat and Potatoes Cookbook

It's been so long, I don't remember what the other AWESOME books are that everyone raves about.

I think Vegan Planet is a pretty good vegan cookbook.

i really like Vegan Fusion: World Cuisine (http://www.veganfusion.com/index_new.php)

it's the only vegan cookbook i've purchased. i like to get my recipes free online. especially from blogs. so far they've all been great, and i like how i can personally thank the person who shared it!

I think Vegan Planet is a pretty good vegan cookbook.

I actually don't like this cookbook. I only use it for a few recipes (Sorrel & Quinoa salad - yum!)

What I don't like about it is 1) no pics and 2) there are several recipes where important steps are missing or assumed or left out entirely. For instance there are several recipes where it's unclear whether to peel something, and at least one that calls for lemongrass but has no instruction whatsoever on what to do with it before throwing it in the pot. I had never used lemongrass before and had to look it up online to figure it out.

Also there is at least one recipe (I forget which one now and I don't have the book at my fingertips) that calls for an ingredient which is left out of the ingredient list, which meant that I got home from the store without all the ingredients.

I like The New Moosewood Cookbook! (Samosas, Balkan Cucumber Salad, Hungarian Mushroom Soup = YUMMMM!:hungry:
