Who runs your household?

If you've ever wondered who's in control, you or your cat, a new study points to the obvious. It's your cat.

Household cats exercise this control with a certain type of urgent-sounding, high-pitched meow, according to the findings.

This meow is actually a purr mixed with a high-pitched cry. While people usually think of cat purring as a sign of happiness, some cats make this purr-cry sound when they want to be fed. The study showed that humans find these mixed calls annoying and difficult to ignore.

No secret to me!

My cats definitely don't purr when they want their food. More like they sayI WANT FOOD NOW!!!

Nothing new to cat owners. That's why I always had difficulty believing the "animals are here to serve us" canard.

Didn't need a study to prove that fact. Just come to my house around 5:30 AM.

Instead of meowing, I would wake up to my kitty sitting on my chest, inches from my face, lightly tapping at my mouth with her paw. If I pretend to sleep for too long, one of the claws comes out... WAKE UP, I'M HUNGRY!!

There is no doubt that kitties run the household... I'll drop anything to do as they wish. :)

Can't believe they had to piss away money on doing this study to figure that out. Have they never shared a home with animals?

Though, on the other had, being paid to play with cats and listen to them miaow, something I do for free every day, would be a good job.
