I saw a case similar to this on Animal Precinct. Someone had rubberbanded a dog's mouth shut to keep it quiet. Well, the dog had been abandoned and left this way for so long that the rubber band had gone down to the bone. :no:

This is the one and only episode of Animal Precinct I watched cause I just couldn't take it. It's absolutely amazing to me what some people are capable of.

Well, I just saw on the news that they did arrest someone for this. I don't thik the punishment is anywhere near severe enough for what was done to this poor dog.

Jail time and psych sessions should be mandatory for these crimes, with strong minimum sentences, not just maximums.

We had something similar at the humane society where I volunteer. The saddest part of all was that even after that, this poor dog was the sweetest, most trusting, lovingest thing you've ever seen.

People suck.

Personally I'd beatum with stick for an hour...or till I couldnt lift it any more....but that is just me.

I've been thinking about this article a lot since. To me, it's more terrifying than sad. Some people who don't like dogs, take them to the SPCA or even abandon it on the street. That's bad, but it take a special kind of evil-ness to do something like this! Even shooting the dog in the head would be much less cruel. This is a huge red flag. If someone can do something like this to an animal, it's not a far step for them to do something similar to a person. In fact, many serial killers have a history of abusing/torturing animals. This is a scary warning.

UGH! I don't know what to say! I can't even look at the pictures right now, I just don't understand how someone could do something like that and get only a 'slap on the wrist' While this poor animal suffered!
