a total rip off of '21 things i want in a lover' but it got me thinking, what 21 things should my lover expect of me...just an idea folks. :D


1. intellectual conversation...minus the confusing bits
2. humour, even when it's innapropriate. like that time when i was at that funeral...;)
3. something warm to hold at night
4. silliness. über craziness abounds with me. sometimes i just feel like cutting loose and just being as silly as possible
5. on the other side: seriousness. i know when something is important and my parnter should never be afraid of telling me something for fear of me laughing at them (which i would never do)
6. clean body, not so clean mind...come on the filth has to reside somewhere...and usually thats in my head (between the ears, not in them)
7. meaningful sex. random crap sex doesn't interest me. i'm all about the looking into the eyes and saying i love you's and all sorts of mushy stuff. it means alot to me and should mean alot to them
8. a music snob. i am a music snob. i love my music. if you value your life at all you will ask before you touch the records. although they are just material possessions...really whats important is on them. (just kidding about touching them, touch all you like, just don't take a pin to them)
9. germanness. i will occassionally yell something in german. be that when i am: 1. angry, 2. on the phone with family, 3. during sex, 4. when i want to whisper naughty things in your ear, 5. when i'm watching a foreign film.
10. culture: i am a cultured person. i've read my philosophy, lingusitics, theatre, art, books, music, history, public television. but don't expect me to throw it in your face. i'm not too quick on throwing my intelligence in others faces.
11. knowing i'm not affiliated with my family. one and two are opposite of each other. that means no christmas dinners away from home.
12. i don't shave. nope. i prefer the feeling of hair, and i don't think it makes me less attractive
13. funkyness. listen to me talk like a beat poet and you'll understand, daddio.
14. if i'm not dressed up, i usually don't match. i like putting stripes and squares together and polka dots and pin stripes. i think its fun. but if i'm going out i will dress appropriately.
15. late nights on the computer. if i'm programming or doing something, i won't come to bed till 3 or 4 maybe 5. but i always get up at 7...and then i go back to bed.
16. sensitive. i can be sensitive about alot of things. but that doesn't mean that i don't try to be thick skinned about alot of things too. things like death don't bother me.
17. no yelling. i don't yell. if i am angry i remain calm..very rarely do i ever raise my voice. i expect the same with my partner
18. adventure. i like to go on adventures. be it serching for the perfect mayonaise or going on a road trip to seattle just to see it rain.
19. crazy driving. i speed alittle bit and i'm a defensive driver. i drove alot in Baltimore, which is a small fast paced city and my driving sometimes reflects that.
20. new food. i cook. i cook sort of well. i like to try alot of foregin dishes and try to make them vegetarian. especially russian, german and icelandic foods.
21. raving, flag waving, über involved socialist. i couldn't be more red even if you painted me. i tell people what i think and if they don't like it, oh well. the only difference between me and most socialists is that i'm a realistic socialist, meaning i think we should work towards things that should be and can be accomplished.

and without a doubt 22 should be obvious:

Driving in Baltimore! Ah yes, the fine well-paved streets of downtown Baltimore. Not unlike the streets of downtown Gaza Strip, I would imagine.

1. I'm intelligent, deal with it.
2. I LIKE to act silly. Doesn't mean I'm not 1. I go loopy when I'm tired. I giggle like a maniac.
3. Intense. I like D&Ms especially when you're going to sleep.
4. I can't drive. I don't know if I'll ever learn. Be prepared to be a chauffeur.
5. I like to cook. I will cook new things. Sometimes they won't work. But they'll always be non-dairy and vegetarian.

8. I like to see movies that aren't action or comedy occasionally. Is this so much to ask?
9. I read. A LOT.
10. I love gardening. I will ask you to help with the heavy stuff. After that, don't touch the garden.
11. Sex. I like variety. No, not different men. But a varied sex life is a GOOD sex life...
12. Music. There are times when I cannot listen to certain types of music. If you would like to see me aggravated and snappy, go ahead and put it on. You've been warned.
13. I am fanatical about showering. I have to be clean. Includes hair. I shave every day in summer.
14. Don't expect to go down on me if I haven't showered. And vice versa.
15. I wear what I want. But I will still ask for your input on occasion... and sometimes take your advice. But if I'm set on being hippie today, and you want urban chic, too bad for you.
16. I am uncomfortable around most kids. But I still want one.
17. I can be anti-social. You may end up going to parties without me. I may sulk about that.
18. I like my hugs. Hugs are necessary to keep me functioning.
19. I don't like any form of racism, sexism, or most other bigotries (including degrading animals). Expect disapproval from me (or worse) when you or others indulge in this.
20. While I am logical, I can also be illogical. I know when I'm being illogical. Make me laugh. It helps.
21. I fall in love quickly, and it takes me a long time to let go... and I love very intensely.

LOL I'm glad I'm not the only one... last night, he was whinging that he was wide awake... my solution... "let's think of something deep to talk about!"

1. Committment to God. Non-negotiable.
2. 5¨4. But alas, I cannot change my height.
3. Constant references to various communication theories and insights. I´m a communications major who loves the theory part of it... what do you expect?
4. A fight if he tries to get me to wear name-brand clothing or buy clothes retail.
5. Spontanaity in the physical side of the relationship. (That is, once we´re married. Before then I´m much more cautious.)
6. A love of kids, especially kids from ethnic backgrounds different than my own.
7. Solid vegetarian cooking. You want to eat meat, you buy, cook, and clean up after it yourself. And don´t even think of disgracing my counters or refrigerator. (half in jest)
8. Shoes. Lots of them. I can´t explain why, but I buy shoes that I don´t wear but once or twice before giving them back to Goodwill several months later.
9. To give me time on my own. I cannot possibly be with my sweetheart all the time. I must have time to just spend by myself.
10. To give me time to spend with my other friends and family. Same as above. To me, a strong relationship can handle the presence of other close friendships, but a relationship that demands the two to always be together is afraid that something terrible will come between if ever apart.
11. A fight if he EVER suggests I go back to being omni. (I can take a joke, but if he´s whining about me being veg making life harder for him, get a grip.)
12. Occassional sound-offs in Castellano. Sometimes I just have to.
13. No strong patriotism from me. In some things, I am pro-USA, and in other things, I am anti-USA.
14. A love of dancing. I greatly enjoy messianic Jewish worship dancing, country line dancing, swing, square dancing, and whatever it´s called that I do in the discoteques. I just move as the music leads... does that have a name?
15. Not much knowlege on the intricacies of computers. I know enough to make it do what I want to make it do most of the time, but anything new takes time.
16. Silliness, especially corniness. I will take puns to the extreme when given the opportunity.
17. Tickling, lots of tickling. I may scream and run away from him when he tickles me, but that just means I want him to chase me and tickle me more.
18. Strangeness. I don´t always act consistently with myself, and I know that. I´m working on it in some ways, but I also like it.
19. All-or-nothing-ism. I´ll wait a year to clean my room, but that´s just because I want to be sure I can clean it all the way and keep it there.
20. Total ignorance with cars. I love driving stick shift, and I know how to do that under normal circumstances. I can also change the oil, pump gas, and rotate the tires. Anything else he´ll have to do or be willing to teach me.
21. Words. Words! I love words, and I hate numbers.

1. I am willing to see the other side of things. I will talk openly about my beliefs and listen to what you have to say. But, please, don't try to find weak arguments and loopholes in what I say.
2. I am stubborn. I may not always be right, but I will never say I'm wrong. Accept it.
3. Don't rush me! I hate rushing around. If I'm grocery shopping and spending a little too long looking at the different kinds of soy milk, please just wait patiently. Don't nag me. I will only take longer. I'd rather have you wait in the car then stand there and sigh.
4. I don't take compliments well, but I enjoy them if they are sincere. So, don't give up if you tell me I look beautiful and I laugh. Just smile. Don't argue.
5. I'm not a neat freak, but I'm anal about certain things. It helps if you are a neat freak.
6. I probably won't dance with you. I love to dance. But have trouble loosening up in public. Go dance by yourself. If I want to I will follow. Don't try to nag me into it.
7. I love my kitties. I will say "look at frankie!" "oh, oh, look at harley" just humor me and look.
8. I'm very strong and independent. But, I like to be taken care of too.
9. I love music. But as shewolf said, unless I put it on, or am in the mood, certain types can aggravate me. I will get crabby.
10. Don't turn the tv on! I hate the noise. See above.
11. I love staying up in bed and talking all night.
12. I like to plan things. But, I also like it when you plan events. I don't like making the decisions of where we will go, and what we will do.
13. Please show interest in my family and friends. I want them to be your family/friends too.
14. Understand if I don't feel like talking one night. When usually I won't shut up. There's nothing wrong. I just don't feel like opening my mouth.
15. I like to wake up early and go out for day trips. I like to plan it out the night before. Even if we don't do exactly as planned, at least we have an idea. Don't wait until that morning to talk about it. Then I will get cranky.
16. I'm not always affectionate. It doesn't mean I don't love you! It just means my mind is somewhere else. Feel free to make the first move.
17. I don't believe in the bible. I believe what I know. The earth, water, and air that keeps me alive. It doesn't mean you have to believe the same. I respect different beliefs. To each their own.
18. Don't be rude to the girl at the cash register, or the waiter at the restaurant.

1- The need to be pampered, romanced and yes, I need and expect to be taken care of (yes even financially, however, I am a fairly simple and I think, very frugal minded girl)

2- I can't dance or do math, understand computers, ride a bike, or read a map so if you want dancing, or bike riding, you'll have to teach me, and teach me good, because I would rather DIE than be publicly humiliated...And the math and map reading, computer tweaking, well...I'd rather you did that, please...

5- Understand that I have a cosmetics, shoe buying, and lingerie fetish, but I am always a major bargain hunter!

15- Please be willing to travel, try new food (not meat or animal products if you object of course, as I will likely adopt the lifestyle the man I am with has chosen, anyway) and please be willing to investigate new cultures...

16- At least be interested in studying buddhism as a lifestyle if not a religion...

17- Be willing to accept my weird, sloppy, parents and my attachment to them...

18-Please be aware that I am very emotionally weak and needy, but when I love someone, it's a strong and very deep emotion...

19- I am not very physical but interested in learning yoga, and or pilates, so would like someone who is too...

20- I would be eternally faithful in my marriage and want someone who would never cheat on me either, after all, that's only fair...

21- I want a highly sexual husband, BUT he's gotta be willing to wait until we are married before wanting to have full blown sex, (and maybe any sex at all depending on my willpower...) 1)I can go hours without talking in some situations, but when I am comfortable, I can talk A LOT. 2)Don't even think about hiding that remote- I like my TV/movie time. And there are things I will watch OVER and OVER like The Simpsons, Sex and the City, Moonstruck, and Woody Allen movies. 3)I like to sing along. 4)I am smart, I know a little bit about everything, and when I am not careful, I like to give advice and suggestions. Just tell me nicely that you can do it yourself. Beware random statistical facts when you least expect them. 5)I own lots of books and magazines. I am creative and artistic. I like to bake desserts- yum! I have a huge simpsons collection on VHS. I have ecclectic musical tastes and I will seldom complain about anyone elses. I'll try to take an interest in your interests. I am supportive. I apologize when I am wrong, or even when I'm not.

From me, a partner can expect:

1) A love of sleeping and the desire to do a lot of it.
2) A need for lots of cuddling.
