Well, I know American Spirit do not test on animals, but as for that I don't know.

I wondered if Cigars contain chemicals tested on animals. For instance, Romeo Y Julieta, that kind of cigar is usually organic but they could smoke test on animals too?

Perhaps some pipe tobacco? American Spirit sell rolling tobacco but thats not the same as pipe tobacco if i am correct.

Also, I heard American Spirit is owned by a larger company, then that company is owned by the second largest tobacco company in the world. So, really, money is still going to animal testing, like the Bodyshop-Loreal thing.

I had some tobacco seeds but I lost them! :( Dammit!

Best thing all round is not to smoke, I know, I know. I haven't smoked anything in months and even then I wasn't a "smoker" so much.. really.

So anyway anyone know anything about this?

Generally speaking, cigarettes and tobacco from big tobacco companies are the most commonly tested products as they are full of additives.

I took a tour of a factory where Romeo Y Julieta and other Cuban cigars are made in Havana. Its all done by hand, with natural ingredients. Even the glue on the cigar bands is nothing but flour and water. No testing is done Cuban cigars as they are a natural product.

The Romeo y Julieta mini cigars are quite nice and not too expensive. Just don't inhale them.

Do you have a proper tobacco shop near you? Pop in and have a chat with them. You'd want to find a tobacco that is not owned by a big tobacco company for best choice of non-animal tested smokes.

I thought you'd be the first person to reply to this haha.

How sucky is it American Spirit were bought.

I've had the Romeo Y julieta minis before I think. They remain organic even though they're the mini ones yes?

I have a couple of rather squashed king sixes atm.

Romeo Y Julieta are definately not owned by a bigger company then?

Romeo y Julieta minis go out if not puffed and also 'run'. These means there are no additives and is proof no chemicals are involved. Everything is made pretty much the same way in Cuba. The tobacco leaves come directly from the fields into the cigar factory where a couple of guys rate each leaf for colour and thickness and other factors into a couple of dozen catagories. These leaves are then used in the production of cigars of various brands and sizes based on age old traditions. No machines, just people rolling cigars using old hand presses at ancient desks.

Romeo y Julieta are owned by the people of Cuba, via the Cuban government. Its a nationalised company.
