I'm not sure it's a good idea to equate weight loss to health. If someone drinks nothing but water for a week, I'm sure they will lose weight, but I doubt it's healthy and it's certainly not sustainable.
Detox, great, exercise, great, eat healthy, great... walk for days with nothing but water and then have to stop because your feet have become too bony to walk on anymore.... pass.

I read the whole thing - and was disappointed by the end. The author seemed to not take away from his whole experiment lessons that he could live with for the rest of his life. His conclusion was that experimentation with lifestyle changes is fine - but let's leave it at that. And that seems to jibe with a general attitude that I've found with omnis, that occasional lifestyle changes that would include a vegetarian diet are okay to improve one's health, but god forbid they should make it a lifetime habit. Like "nutrition experts" one finds in places like Parade magazine and on online news magazines who suggest to improve one's health, try an occasional vegetarian meal, but one doesn't have to be a strict vegetarian and stay that way for life, because we all know that doing so is too "extreme".
Just my humble opinion.

Thats very similar to what I got out of it as well. It seems like, while Bernarr was an amazing man in respects to health, people who read about him think "Well, thats good to improve myself for ____ long"
