Since my neighbor moved out a few weeks ago, cockroaches have decided to set up housekeeping in my condo! I have fogged once with limited results. A friend mentioned using boric acid for roach (and flea) control.
I was wondering if anyone has used this and whether it worked .I'm not crazy about bombarding my home with toxic chemicals, and hoping this is a solution. Thanks.

When my mom and I had a roach problem years back, we used boric acid and it worked very well. It didn't seem to harm us or our animal companions at all, and after a few days, the roaches were gone.

yeah, it'll work (not too sure about fleas, but certainly on roaches) but its still kinda chemically- just a lesser evil.

lol i know... but I have pet cockroaches so I view them as friends :( So I totally flip out at people when they talk about killing roaches, or any bugs for that matter... I have a hard time not ripping peoples' heads off when I see them squishing ants :gun:

Borax works, just make sure the places you/sprinkle pour is in favor of the pest.

Well, I don't know... my friends don't crawl and poop on my eating and cooking utensils and food. Nor do they bite me.
Seriously though, I hate killing bugs and wish there was another way, but sometimes I feel that one has to draw the line when it comes to sanitation and health issues.

Boric acid is nasty stuff. Be careful.

I lived in an apartment and a neighbor, who I shared a wall with, lived in filth. I tried boric acid, bombs, roach traps, sprays. Nothing did much good because they were originating next door, and that guy apparently didn't have any intention of stopping them. Eventually I went to the property manager, and they hired a professional to go through all the units in the building. And that upset the guy so he moved out, so between those two things, that fixed the infestation.

I'm not sure how that would work in condos where practically everyone there is an owner.

Yeah, we're pretty much on our own here. I do see my former neighbor's dad occasionally, so I'll speak to him about it. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks everyone for the advice. I appreciate it.
