Trust you'll be voting for the right party ;) (if they're available)
ahem
GREEN PARTY
"produce comprehensive information on vegetarian/vegan diets for distribution to all Local Authorities together with instructions that a vegetarian/vegan choice of meal be made available at all education establishments within the Authorities' remit.
"To prohibit the import, export and sale of all fur, whether wild caught or factory farmed, and to ensure a ban on fur farming in the UK stays in place. The import of other animal products such as ivory, reptile skins and whale oil, will be prohibited."
The Green Party is opposed, on scientific and ethical grounds, to the harmful use of animals in research and for medical purposes and would ban all research and medical practice which harms animals, including harmful procedures used to obtain animal derived materials. 'Harmful' is defined in this context as 'having the potential to cause pain, suffering, distress, lasting harm or death in animals, except where it is designed to benefit the individual animals concerned'. Government research funds will be transferred from animal tests to superior non-animal technologies, including epidemiology, computer models, micro-dosing, DNA chips, Microfluidics chips and the use of human tissue. Greens would also fund more research into prevention of disease, looking at diet, environment, family history and lifestyle.

Thankyou :) It doesn't matter they won't win because they'll at least get a couple of seats maybe, and then there's someone to speak for animal rights. There's my basic knowledge of it but there you go lol. Every vote really does count for the green party because it's a minor party.

I live in the Eastern Region and am voting for Animals Count, otherwise I'd vote Green.

Voted green this morning. Hopefully this will be a good election for the greens. I already have a green MEP in my region hopefully we can get one or two more. The big test will be in the next general election when my constituency has a real shot at getting the Green Party's first MP, now that really would be something.

I am so pleased at proportional representation and being able to vote Green rather than voting 'tactically'. :D

They were a surprise on the european vote, a nice surprise though.

I just went and voted Green. I hadn't heard of Animals Count before, are they just all about the animals?

It seems so many people I have spoken to have voted BNP in 'protest'. How terribly sad :(
Green Party all the way! Caroline Lucas is a great person.

I was really impressed with the election adverts they did to be honest. Really sensible policies. :)

Yes didn't the BNP get a majority in one region I think i heard on the news? Why vote BNP when there are so many other options who arent conservative or labour!?
I detest the BNP. If anyone i knew actually had voted for them i would seriously reconsider my association with them.

I think it was Burnley, in Lancashire, which has always had a big BNP following. A work colleague of mine knows of someone who is a *nurse* that votes BNP. One of our local BNP candidates is a school teacher who is also featured on their leaflets, very worrying.

Doesn't surprise me much. I work with a few nurses who I consider to be incredibly racist. Luckily for them they aren't all too public about it.

Me too, and I would move if they got the majority in my area.
