Argh! I guess this is a vent. Out of the blue, my ankle started hurting me, so now I'm not going to be able to work out for a while! It's frustrating because I've been dealing with some emotional issues and need to exercise since it helps me release stress and whatnot. Plus, I've gained a couple of pounds, and I need to shed them!! My already low self-esteem needs the endorphins from working out. But, who knows when my ankle will be better and I'll be able to exercise again!!!!! I didn't do anything to hurt myself, so I'm not sure what's going on. So frustrating!!!!

You should go to the doctor to find out what's wrong w/it.
Also, there's many exercises you can do that don't involve your ankle. Try some upper body workouts.

yeah, do ankle-free exercise- work your arms, go swimming, hop, skip on one leg, etc. no copping out, you! :p :shifty:

you can get an "ace" brace that will help the pain, but probably should ask the doctor.

RICE is what you need to remember for joint injuries - Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.
There's lots of stuff you can do instead though, although running is much cheaper :)
Yoga is great, you really feel like you've had a work out even though it doesn't look so hard, great for the mind too. Or try the rowing machine (get advice on tequnique first to save your back) in the gym or swim instead.

Those are some really great ideas!!!! I'll definitely start doing some of those!!!!! Doing something is definitely better than doing nothing.
