I wait until I'm hungry, then I eat something light, maybe a piece of toast with butter or peanut butter. I can't eat a lot in the morning either.

No, never force yourself to eat when you aren't hungry. Eating according to an artificial schedule determined by the time of day is overrated. Eat when you are hungry, and don't eat when you are not. What works for other people won't necessarily work for you. :)

You could always try either fruit juice or a smoothie if you want to have something but feel you can't actually stomach solid food. You can add some soy milk, peanut butter, oats etc. into it if you want some carbs and protein in there too.

I would probably lean more towards what 'Somebody Else' said though and just eat when you get hungry instead.

Me too, I don't get hungry at least until around 11 am. I just follow what my body tells me as well.

If you don't find yourself wanting to eat in the morning then don't! Just make a smoothie, or drink some orange or fruit juice. :)

take something with you wherever you're going, and eat it an hour or two (or 3) later when your stomach wakes up- smoothie, crackers sandwiched with peanut butter and jelly, trail mix, applesauce cup and some dry cereal to munch on, etc.

Follow what your body tells you;)

Usually I eat breaksfast; but when i don't feel hungry I just put one of the following in my bag before went out of my house: a cereal bar, a fruit (apple, banana, or other), a small sandwich or something else that will be easy to snack when I'll feel hungry=)

We shouldn't starve, but forcing ourselves to eat without hungry isn't good either:P

I always, always force myself to eat breakfast and I've been doing so for about 3 years now. It's better for your metabolism! :]

But yes.. I have issues with breakfast a lot of the time as well. I find that if I sleep in late I'm not as hungry and the same goes for getting up earlier than usual. A schedule helps a lot, and if I still don't feel hungry, I'll just have a piece of toast or an apple. Something small!

I'm really the same way, and have mostly been at a loss lately as to what to do. I wake up hungry but have no desire to eat, nothing sounds good, and when I do finally decide to eat something I barely eat any of it. Just enough so I'm not hungry.

or drink some orange...juice. :)

A friend told me he had lots of success just drink a big glass of orange juice in the morning and then after an hour or so he would want to eat something. I think I'm going to try that. But I need to figure something out.

i really couldn't do that. making myself barf is really not good for my metabolism- nor my general sense of wellbeing. :D

I usually don't have the desire or time to eat breakfast but I find if I don't, I feel very weak before lunch, so I carry around Cliff "Mojo" bars (they have everything but the kitchen sink in them, so tasty!). I might eat one in the morning and drink some water. It helps, either that or I drink Odwalla's "superfood". It has fruits and veggies in it so you get a lot of your vitamins, it freaks some of my friends out because it's dark green, but it tastes just like apple juice.

Forcing yourself to eat isn't necessary, but if you don't eat then at least make sure to drink a glass or two of water. Your body is dehydrated and needs a break from the overnight fast (hence the term "break""fast"). Then wait a half hour and see if you feel hungry

I think Jen means if she did force herself to eat breakfast then she'd puke.

Anyways I'm the same. I havent eaten breakfast since I was about 12 and I seem to be doing ok! I can barely manage a glass of juice let alone anything else. ive been starting to force myself to eat a banana at about 10-11am in my work break (getting up at 7) and that is effort urgh, i cant imagine doing it first thing in the morning

I've found that if I eat too closely before going to sleep, I'm not hungry in the morning. I feel my best when I'm hungry in the morning, and not eating within 3 hours of going to sleep. I work a mixed schedule including a lot of night shifts, so it's difficult for me to keep any consistency that way, but if I could, I'd try to always have breakfast and always have something substantial in the evening, so I don't exactly go to bed hungry, but wake up hungry.
