From the Colgate website (see URL link above):

One of the most important ways we demonstrate caring for our consumers is by providing our
consumers with information to help them choose the right products to meet their specific needs.

For our vegetarian consumers, Colgate offers a large selection of products free of animal-derived
ingredients. With more consumers seeking such products every day, Colgate is committed to making
it easier for consumers to identify and select these products. The list below includes
the Colgate products sold in the U.S. that currently are free of animal-derived ingredients, and
appropriate for consumers seeking to avoid products containing animal ingredients. While the
sourcing of Colgate’s ingredients and the ingredients themselves are subject to change, this list
reflects the most up-to-date selection of those Colgate products that do not contain any
animal-derived ingredients.

This Product Guide for Vegetarians will be updated periodically to reflect any changes to ingredients
in Colgate's products. If you are unsure of whether a particular Colgate product is appropriate for
vegetarian consumption or use, or to obtain the most updated information, please contact Colgate’s
Consumer Affairs Department at 1-800-221-4607.

We hope that you find this information useful and that it helps you find the right Colgate product to meet
your needs.

I was also thinking the same, "Isn't Colgate-Palmolive one of the big chains known for animal testing?" Maybe you should petition. Inform them you love that their products are vegan friendly and would buy them regularly, if only they were cruelty free....

^^they aren't vegan/vegetarian friendly if they test on animals!

I buy most of my products from vegan stores online (it helps not having to do so much research while shopping!), but they are becoming more widely available at regular stores.

For example I saw hebal cowboy and kiss my face products being sold at stop and shop!

Hopefully soon everyone will be able to buy vegan friendly products at every grocery/phamarcy store!

Ha I love that they now say they are vegetarian friendly just for not using animal derived ingredients. They are a huge company when it comes to animal testing, no thank you.

Not just that they test on animals. I've heard that fluorine is poisonous to all forms of life!!
That's if you use their toothpastes, of course.

AW MAN!!!

My husband just bought some colgate toothpaste... and deodorant.

And here I was ready to get all happy for him for actually choosing vegan products instead of omni-infested animal'd to the hilt ones (never mind the fact he's not even remotely vegan).

So much for "accidental vegan" happiness...

We need fluorine. It's a trace element and almost all organisms need it

There is a lot of controversy over the "need" for fluoride, to the point that my doctor (who is vegan and into natural living) suggests trying to avoid it if possible...even though his schooling taught him to say otherwise (they also taught him to back a meat/dairy based diet). Flurosis (fluoride poisoning) is not uncommon and symptoms include things like osteoporosis and chronic fatigue (some believe it may have something to do with chronic fatigue syndrome). Also, no studies have actually proven that it has any positive effect of reducing tooth decay (as it is touted to do). Most of the studies "proving" this were sponsored by the pro-fluoride lobby (hmmm just like the studies about meat, dairy etc etc...all done by their own lobby groups). What's especially funny is that *most of their own bias studies* actually showed that cities who didn't add fluoride to their water had significantly better dental health. But guess what? The lobby dismissed the results and said that they were irrelevant since there were "obviously" benefits to fluoridation of water.

I know, isn't it great? We have a lot of kiss my face and others at the Kroger near where I live.
