Here is a great blog for getting the latest information on the cruelty-free status of mainstream products (eg. food, cosmetics, household stuff, etc.) that you find at your local grocery store or Walmart. The blogger's description of the blog is quite humorous:
I'm just another Muslim who wastes time in the supermarket looking dumbfounded at ingredients lists as words 20 letters long fly over my head! I have no idea what these words mean, can't you just list GOAT GUTS, BEEF FAT, or CHICKEN GIZZARD on the label?
I'm just trying to find the answers we're all looking for by merely contacting these companies myself and asking them, "YO IS THIS HALAL OR NOT?!" =)
Halal information can be very useful for vegetarians and vegans.
