I would love to go, although it is a long way from home.

Apparently this may be the last Bristol Vegan Fayre - is this true?

Oh, JV...where did you hear that? I hope not. We've only just been the once last year, but it was very very nice being outside, as opposed to the London gig in the Fall which is so crowded you come away smelling like someone else's b.o. :p

I think I might like to go but I live a long way away (edinburgh). Whats there? Is it worth the travel? Just if anyone has any info that would be fantastic. Thanks soooo much!

Here is the link to their website with more info:
http://bristol.veganfayre.co.uk/

I think Pirate Ferret's been several times back in the day, so maybe she could tell some more about it. Last year, when IS and I were there, we visited some stalls, had good food, listened to some music, drank some vegan beer, went to a talk I think, had our bone density measured as part of a study. As it got to be nighttime, it turned more to drinking and music, which was still pretty cool, but really not my scene so much. :p
<<suddenly feels about 100

I'm not sure if it would be worth a long journey by itself, but you could do some other things in the area too. Bristol is a very cool place, imo. :)

I was going but just seen the £10 ticket price. Fair enough for the young-uns making a day and night of it, especially when the organisers have to pay for the bands, but for us boring old farts who were just going for a couple of hours to tour the stalls and maybe hope to meet a few people (whilst moaning about the noise) its a bit steep.

TTFN,
Jon

Bumpy bump!
Im going on the Sunday, not sure what time. Staying with a friend who lives bout 30 miles away. not sure if theyre coming or not though, theyre an omni but will eat vegan if i cook it. I hope the weather isnt miserable!

wouldnt say itd be worth travelling from edinburgh unless you were planning to stay for a couple of days and look around other stuff too (whoops late reply)

Oh you are kidding me.

This sounds like a brilliant event, I have the money to spare in order to go and I live fairly close-by (Weston-super-Mare). One problem; I'm being taken to visit grandparents this weekend, so I can't go.

Would anybody be kind enough to take some photographs/videos and post them here afterwards?

Hey Liz..do you know if there are any cool shops that we should check out while we're in the area? We're going to be there Saturday and Sunday, and one of us still need to get some wedding clothes.

Eeerrr not for wedding clothes I don't! never looked haha. On the saturday you should go to St. Nicholas market, its just a neat place for bits and bobs like jewellery, ornaments, incense (is closed on sundays, its my favourite place in bristol). Theres a massive new shopping centre called cabot circus a 5min walk away too but thats all chain shops. I havent lived in bristol for almost a year now and its all changed cause of the new shopping centre!
theres park row, which is a huge hill full of loads of boutiquey shops too. Theyre all signposted/easily accessable from the waterfront where the fayre is. will see if i can think of anything else

ps.if anyone wants to spot me and wave, i'm now ginger not pink-haired due to work, so will be slightly harder to find in a crowd haha.

Jen & I will be there tomorrow. If you spot a dark-haired, bearded guy, possibly with a pair of big, ugly sunglasses, drinking beer and wearing a Veggieboards t-shirt, feel free to come over and say hi!
