I'll be going to Denver next month for about a week and aside from going to the butterfly pavilion, animal sanctuary, the zoo and botanic gardens (tell me about these as well) where else should I go? Which restaurants should I check out? What's Denver like (also weather-wise in mid May?). I'm also wanting to do a bit of shopping (clothes, kitchen items, etc). Which malls/stores should I check out?

There are lots of veg friendly restaurants in Denver. Google Happy Cow. I really like the Cherry Creek Shopping Center for shopping. It is in the heart of Denver at 1st Ave. and University. They have a Whole Foods and a Bed, Bath & Beyond, too. Near there over on Colfax and Elizabeth is the Tattered Cover Bookstore. One of the great independent bookstores. If you like theatre, Downtown Denver has the Denver Center for Performing Arts with several theatres and the Boettcher Concert Hall. You can go down and get tickets just like you do on Broadway in NYC.

Denver weather is unpredictable almost any time of year. Dress in layers as it might start out cool or cold and end up 75 degrees within a few hours. Bring a jacket for sure and just peel off clothes as needed. Nights are always cool even in the summer.

You've got to check out Watercourse in downtown Denver. Amazing veg restaurant. For Thai food, Wild Ginger Thai in Littleton is amazing. Best Thai food i've ever eaten.
