Any roller derby players?

ive just started playing roller derby in the uk are there any other veggies or vegans on here that derby?

I've once attempted to join a roller derby team about a year ago. It was funny how I even considered it. I was with some family and friends at a pizza restaurant, when one of the employees pulled me aside and told me how someone he knows was recruiting and I looked like the type of gal that would join!?? I didnt even know what roller derby was and I was a type..okay!? I looked it up on the web and thought; AWESOME!!! Anyways out of curiousity and a fact that I do skate well, I ended up calling and the gal....unfortunately the dude forgot to mention I'd have to drive an hour for practice twice a week, BOO!! I would love to, but teams are hard to come by everywhere my husband ends up moving us. Maybe someday, but I definately need to get into better shape.
