Can anyone here recommend a good *effective* brand of natural deodorant? The ones I have tried so far don't seem to work. I am not excessively sweaty or anything, I just can't seem to find one that does what it is intended to do.

I don't wanna spend a ton of money buying one brand after the other. That would be silly. No one wants to be the "smelly kid" at the office (=

Thanks guys,

Were you looking for a natural deodorant or an antiperspirant? The only reason I ask is I used to look for a natural antiperspirant, but those don't exist. I use one of the crystal sticks (Naturally Fresh Deodorant Stick) along with a scented deodorant from an Etsy seller: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5153886. I have the Masala Chai one (they seem to be out of it right now), and it smells wonderful. Goes on really smoothly, too. I want to try the Ice Cream one next, and have heard rave reviews about the Pink Cupcake scent. :)

I've been using the crystal roll-on and it works fine for me. I don't smell at all, and I am prone to sweating. I have the unscented kind.

I've tried the crystals before to. It worked at first but seemed to lose it's effectiveness over time. What I hear most often is that unless you are one of those people that doesn't sweat, they aren't the best option.

I don't sweat excessively on a normal day, so I am not *as* concerned with it being antiperspirant. I have heard mixed reviews about the crystal kinds. I was looking for something more like a traditional stick deodorant, but without all the awful chemicals, like the big name brands have. I am trying get away from harsh chemicals all around where my beauty/hygiene routine is concerned.

Maybe I will give this option a try, but if I am going to spent $7 on a new deodorant, I don't want it to be as... lacking... as the last one I purchased, so I'd like to see what other suggestions and input folks have first.

Yeah, mine seemed to work a bit better when I first got it, but it still does a decent job. I've heard the one with the blue writing (Naturally Fresh) works better than the purple.

I like the stick kind better as well. What works for me is to apply the crystal after I get out of the shower (you need to wet it for it to work). That's supposed to neutralize any odor, as any normal deodorant should. Then once that's dry I apply a thin layer of my Etsy deodorant on top of that. I guess not only does it give me an extra bit of confidence, but I'm also just used to deodorants/antiperspirants having a scent.

I also don't sweat much under my arms, nor is there much of an odor. I'm sure I could get away with just using one, but I like to be prepared just in case. :)

Totally off-topic, but I must say, Veg*n Tray... looking at your profile pic, your white cat is far more patient than my white cat would be in the same situation. But then, my Marlie is only a year old and very self-motivated when it comes to playing.

Lol, he kept spying it out of the corner of his eye. He made sure it didn't try anything funny and then attacked as soon as it moved (ie, when we took it off of him). He was about 5 or 6 then, he's always been the slow stalking type (well, since he was 4 when we adopted him at least). :)

Personally, I like Tom's of Maine's Woodspice deodorant (it's green and earthy smelling, not girly, which is the way I like it ). It keeps me from smelling although it can't do anything for sweatiness and wetness under the arms when you're outside working up a sweat, of course. I also have one of their new unscented sensitive skin deodorants waiting to be tried, too, but I'm trying to use up my Woodspice first.

Not being able to get a natural vegan anti-perspirant/deodorant is a bit of a pain in the summer, though. :-/
