you know, my bar was set really high, but i didn't whine about it. i think the thing that always gets me is the whining that often goes on (not saying this is necessarily the case).

i had very high standards, but also no expectation of having someone meet those standards. i was perfectly ok never being in a long term relationship or just being single, and not even dating. i was even ok with not having sex, hand holding, or kissing. seriously, i just accepted that my standards were high and that i had no expectation of someone meeting those standards.

and then i subsequently met my husband.

due to the new baby, it's been a long while since sex, but kissing, hand holding, and all of that happens daily.

*edited to add: i suppose "a long while" can mean different things to different people. but, that's ok. LOL
