My Guns N' Roses "Use Your Illusion II" CD was in a box that was not taped up until last minute. Now it's gone, and there's an empty case in the G section of the box. Some one had to have taken it out, and replaced it with the empty case. I hate John! Out of all of my CD's, it had to have been that one. How could he be so atrocious, knowing fully well that I don't have the money to go out and buy any CD's? It's not like I took any of his f***in' Weezer or Marilyn Manson CD's. He got everything in the split. I got my clothes, my dishes, my blender and one box of my CD's. He already took everything, and could have taken any other CD, but it had to be my favorite, or maybe second favorite. Why would he be so mean to me?

You know, my ex took things left and right when we split. :shrugs: I eventually replaced them. It's not cool for him to steal but think of it the way I did. If the cost of being rid of him is a GNR cd that you'll replace on down the road then I say you got a deal! Hey, offer him another one. Put it this way..."If I need to pay you in CD's to be rid of you then so be it. What other's might you feel compelled to steal? I'll gladly give them to you if it means never having to deal with you again." Watch the look on his face. I bet he doesn't take anymore..

Good idea, Ruthie. One problem: I'm not going to see him again. I don't even have his phone number. He took the CD on principle: because it was my favorite. He did it to be mean. Believe me, the cost of being rid of him was much more than a $16 CD. He took everything, and left me $14,000 in debt. All I want to do now is listen to "Locamotive" but I can't.

"Gonna have some fun with my frustration
Gonna watch the big screen in my head
I'd rather take a detour
'Cause this road ain't gettin' clearer
Your train of thought has cut me off again
Better tame that boy 'cause he's a wild one
Better tame that boy for he's a man
Sweetheart don't make me laugh
You's gettin' too big for your pants
And I's think maybe you should
Cut out while you can
You can use you illusion-
Let it take you where it may
We live and learn
And then sometimes it's best to walk away
Me I'm just here hangin' on
It's my only place to stay at least
For now anyway
I've worked too hard for my illusions
Just to throw them all away"

At least not for me, I am allowed to make a copy (or backup) for save keeping.

They don't say where I have to store it.

If oneness wants to make a backup and wants to store it safely at cougars place......

Besides there is a copyright fee on empty CD's here...so no harm done.

I had a roommate (not even a b/f) leave owing me $80 bucks in utilities one time ... not such a bad amount compared to what is possible, sorry to hear your stories guys! :( On the other hand it p*ssed me off that much more, because it was such a paltry amount and he could have easily paid it. I even gave him a couple chances to pay it off slowly, $10 a week.

I felt like: "You're saying my friendship and future goodwill is worth less than 80 bucks to you??!" Youch. I still see him from time to time and I am not friendly. :brood: More irritating still is that he's in a MUCH better financial position than me these days, and still acts like, "Why is she mad at me?" :grr:

How much worse when it's a b/f and you know he took it just to upset you. It's not the $16; it's the principle.

Not Use Your Illusion 2! That's too awesome of a cd to be without! It's my second favorite GNR album.
Don't sweat it though. Before Tim and I got married, we split up for 6 months. He was being a total butthole and I just wanted it done with. I moved out and let him have close to everything. There was some stuff that I missed, but I got over it. It was just so much easier without the stress. You'll be okay.

A guy I know from school got a death threat from another guy who went to school with us (who claims he is owed $200). Death-threat guy is probably serious (I recall his love of talking about torturing Cats).

That is why it is best to do as I do and be a loner and a hermit; it is too much effort to weed out the pyschos.

Oneness rocks!
Erin: What's your favorite? "Use Your Illusion I"? I can't pick between the two of those, but they're really one album, hence the I and II thing.

Actually, it's Appetite for Destruction.
It takes me away to that special place ( :) ) of when I first heard them.

Oh, I love that song!!! I like "Use Your Illusion I" better, 'cause of "Coma". I DOD'ed when I was seventeen, and my best friend got "Use Your Illusion I" for me when I got out of the counselling center. I listened to it three times a day for a few months on end. When I feel like that, from time to time, I pop in "Coma" and those thoughts subside.

The general theme of "Use Your Illusion II" reflects where I'm at in life, right now, better than the others, I think. It's my favorite at this point, but the rest are my favorites at other times. Of course, I'll always have a special place for "Use Your Illusion I".

When I was a teen, music got me through a lot. Now whenever I hear certain songs, memories come up - good or bad.
If I had to pick a song from UYI1 that was my favorite for the lyrics, right now I'd go with "Don't Damn Me".

One time, when my mom kicked me out of the house, she came up with all of these ridiculous conditions for me to continue living there. I can't remember what set me off, but half-way through her list of demands, I started singing "Don't Damn Me" to her at the top of my lungs. She hates GN'R, and would never let my bro or I own a GN'R album. (I was sneaky though.) I sang that song to her and she actually quit bitching. I moved in with my then-boyfriend, now-estranged husband.
