Low fat low calorie vegan Brownies

This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian/vegan diet


Preparation Time: minutes
Serves: 16


Ingredients:

1 cup flour
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 cup turbinado sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla or 1 vanilla bean
2 tablespoons Egg Replacer whisked with 1/2 cup water
Cooking spray


Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
Set aside.

Mix applesauce and sugar together in a separate bowl. Add the vanilla and egg replacer.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until mixed.

Spray 8-inch-square baking dish with cooking spray and pour mixture into it.
Bake for 30 minutes.

90 calories and 1/2 a gram of fat each :D

Does anyone have any idea how much 1 cup of apple sauce is in g or ml?

1 cup = 250 ml, by defenition.

Sounds yummy! I love brownies! Need some Ener-G egg replacer though.

try the flax sub instead? (just use 2tbsp of ground flaxseed instead of 2tbs ener-g and whisk it in warm water, let it sit a few minutes and you should be good to go. I've taken egg out altogether before and have it go just fine.)

Flax seeds are crazy cheap! Especially if you buy them unground and grind them with a coffee grinder :)
