I used Noxema for years and years and years. It's one of the only products that kept my skin clean and moisturized and free of blemishes. And then one day while letting it sit on my skin I checked the ingredients label and found gelatin. Really Noxema? Is that necessary!? I did some research (shame on me for not having done so before) and realized they test on animals as well.
So I fired off a letter to the company (no reply  ) about the superfluous usage of animal products and cruel animal testing and went off in search of a new way to keep my skin happy.
I had tried a bunch of other products and couldn't find anything that did the trick. I have normal skin, and only get blemishes a few times a month with a few blackheads on the ridge of my nose. Some products would dry my skin out too much or irritate my skin or would cause me to break out or leave me feeling greasy. It wasn't until I was at the local natural store and feeling frustrated that the clerk handed me a bottle of sweet sweet skin salvation: Thayers Alcohol-Free Rose Petal Witch Hazel Toner (http://www.thayers.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=14&zenid=1881be47a79c5cba084905518fa09f35).
I'm pretty much in love with this stuff and was super duper happy to find it.
