Hi Everyone. Here's your place to get encouragement and accountability for the month of April. This is the place to state your goals, victories or slip-ups and generally encourage each other on our weight loss journey.
Make a plan for the month. State your goals and get to it. Post as often as you want or need to. This is your place for support. Do not become discouraged if you slip up and eat off plan or not get in your exercise goals. Each day dawns bright and new and so we can carry on and know that one off-plan day is not a disaster. Here's to a great, healthy April!!!

I'm going to participate this month.
My goals: eat healthy food I prepare at home, work out at least 3 times a week and drink all the water I need.

The second half of march was full of fail for me. My April goal is to get down to a 21.9 BMI.
And also, not to fall off the wagon like I did in March. And by "fall off the wagon," I am talkin face first into the gravel. Cheers to April!!!

March itself was a full fail for me :surprised
I'm actually going to participate instead of just popping in and saying I'm going to.
Scout's honor!
No more fast food!
Try baking "fried" foods more.
More water, no pop.
More greens :worried:

My goal is to continue with my thus far meager weight loss. Lost 1.5 lb last week. 8 lbs would be optimal for April, but honestly, I'll be happy with five.
Have started a gym routine (I'm a college student with free access to two great gyms, so there was no excuse for me not doing it before)
Have been trying to make healthier choices when it comes to food
For the last two weeks, I have only drank soda (my greatest weakness) once on Friday...as a reward for working so hard at school during the week.
Ongoing challenges for me:
My love of cheese
The high calorie nature of beer coupled with me having a very collegiate social life.

Ok, here I go (again, hehe)...
Walk five to six times a week (am back on track with that).
Stick to tracking my Weight Watchers points and staying with what works.
Continue drinking at least 32 ounces of water a day (have done great with the water)
I am going to crack 150 this month come hell or high water!
Good luck to everyone!!

I love April! Spring is in the air and the drudgery of March is finally over. I don't know what is was about March this year, but it seemed to be a bad month for many of us here. I'm hoping that April will be better all around.
My goals for the month:
- jog 3x per week
- walk instead of using public trans whenever possible
- eat close to a clean, wholefoods, vegan diet (minimal slip-ups)
- begin weight training/muscle building exercises 2x per week
I'm 13 pounds from my goal. I'm hoping to lose 5 pounds this month. That will put me back at the weight I was when I got married last summer. *crosses fingers*
Good luck this month everyone!

I figured I would join in since I'm relatively new to the boards.
My goals:
-lots more water, less sugary badness (i'm a sucker for sweet tea)
-run/jog at least 4x a week, as long as it stops raining
-lose at least 6 lbs
-NOT revert to old, bad habits when I go on vacation at the end of the month
Good luck everyone!

Hah! I was just going to mention this month was going to be good once we get past april fools. You'd think professionals would be more mature...but nooooo. I think I'm taking a vacation day next april 1st.
Weight goal is to lose 5 pounds this month to keep up with my pound a week challenge.
My gym is finally set up so I need to make sure I'm using it 3 times a week. At least 20 minutes cardio, and 20 minutes weights.
Lastly, have to stay out of the cafeteria at work! I brought slimfast cans to work so if I forget my lunch I'll have to suffer though a liquid lunch.

I've decided that I will go on the "cottage cheese and grapefruit" diet, and eat "Special K" to round it out. What do ya think? Maybe a few baby carrots and tomatoes would make it a healthy plan!

 True, true!
That was my lame attempt at an "April Fool" by the way. I couldn't stand to let it be up there any longer, lest anyone think I converted! :p

I'm actually going to participate this month! I eyeball these threads but just can't commit like that!
I'm going to severely cut back my sugar intake - no cookies/cake/candy/crap (lotta c's!). I'm slightly worried about this because of Easter, but life will go on! Fresh fruit and the natural stuff will be the extent of my sugar intake.
Water. More water, more water. I drink a lot at work, but when I get home... slim to none. So I need to drink more water at home!
Exercise. I'm so lazy with this, but now that the days are getting longer, I'm shooting to go walking/jogging at LEAST twice a week. I can't Tuesday's and Wednesday's because I have class and don't get home til LATE... but all the other days it should be possible. (Haha, I'm already looking for excuses!). I WILL GO WALKING!!!
:pibo: :nana: COME ON GUYS! WE CAN DO THIS!!! :bobo: :vebo:

The first thing I did when I got home from class was go for the chips. I had eaten a good handful or two before I realized what I was doing...
I'm off to make something healthy instead.
boo.

Good for you for realizing your mistake and correcting! The first step is taking control of our mindless bad habits. They get so ingrained that we sometimes don't even realize we're doing them. You should be proud of yourself!! :)

That mindless/impulsive kind of thing is a problem for me too. I actually wanted chips (WHY are they in the house?) and ended up eating chocolate instead. :( I haven't had chocolate in ages. I can blame PMS, or the fact that it was on sale, but I need to just portion things out and/or just not buy them, at all!
Oh well, the rest of the day can be on track!
I'll have a huge salad at some point with mixed greens, spinach, tomatoes, carrots, avocado, chickpeas or kidney beans and a low fat dressing.
I may have a bean burrito out with the Dr. later though, as we are meeting for lunch. We'll see! If I get my butt outta bed, I may just be able to make the salad and take that instead! That may be better, as, although I LOVE bean burritos, they are about 800 calories when purchased from the taco shop, and I've already eaten bout half of my calories today :(

That was a good one :D
I started off the month on the right foot. The weather was not inviting, but I got my walk in before the rain started. Only a few sprinkles. It's pouring out now, so I'm glad I was motivated enough to get this done.

I have problems with portion control and eating too late. I'm slowing down my eating habits so that I can recognize when I'm full before I become too full. Sometimes I'll just nom on something a little before bed because my mouth wants to eat. I'm going to do take up brushing my teeth instead, that sounds like a good plan! And when I go to the kitchen for a snack, instead of chips or quick pasta or popcorn, I'm going to grab a carrot, or a stalk of celery, or an apple, or a tomato or maybe a handful of lettuce. Nom nom nom. :D
I just ate lunch and I packed waayyy too much last night, so I ate half of it and the other half is sitting on my desk. I'm so happy I could put down that fork because sitting here now, I'm super full! And I'm drinking more water too! Wooo!!!! :D
